Overall Satisfaction with Visual Studio IDE
We use it to develop custom applications in .net and .net core.
- Best code prompts (intellosense) of any IDE
- Easy to learn and use, intuitive
- Built in dependency management that works without a hassle
- The size is very large and it takes a long time to install
- It is expensive for pro, although the community edition is free
- Sometimes the project format changes and this forces multiple solution files or everyone in the team to upgrade
- Using .net and Visual Studio allowed us to simplify our stack and improve developer productivity
- We no longer had to evaluate and poc many Java libraries, some of which had legal implications due to their open source licenses
- Visual Studio reliably worked with dependency management, Visual Studio Eclipse with Maven, which was really difficult working in a corporate environment
It was better integrated with technologies we used, worked more reliably, had better IntelliSense.
