Overall Satisfaction with Yubico YubiKeys

I currently use YubiKey for MFA on various platforms. I mainly use it with Duo Security. The device was easy to register for many platforms and was easy for my devices to recognize. I hope to get to the point where I use it as my only MFA for specific applications.
  • Ease of use.
  • Durable device I've had for years on my keychain.
  • Small and lightweight.
  • Having one device capable of handling USB-A and USB-C and NFC combined.
  • Phishing resistant MFA.
  • Passwordless authentication.
  • Durable construction.
  • Improved MFA security for users.
  • Provided additional options for end-user devices allowed for employees.
I am not aware of any of our users who use YubiKeys for having account takeover threats. I believe our users who choose YubiKeys are already more aware of threats and choose YubiKeys because they are cyber-aware.
YubiKeys are typically not our users' first choice simply because of the upfront cost. I believe this is mainly due to their lack of understanding of the additional benefits these devices have that our other MFA fobs do not have or allow for. Those who do have YubiKeys are more willing to use them for both work and personal use.
When using HOTP Duo MFA fobs, the YubiKeys are much better because they are lighter weight, more durable, and easy to take everywhere.

Do you think Yubico YubiKeys delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Yubico YubiKeys's feature set?

Yes

Did Yubico YubiKeys live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Yubico YubiKeys go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Yubico YubiKeys again?

Yes

YubiKeys are well suited for enterprises desiring to utilize an improved MFA factor compared to less secure ones like SMS, Phone, or Email-based factors. YubiKeys may be difficult for users to understand and work with mobile devices for non-techies initially.
