It is very helpful for budgeting and reporting. I love how easy it is to automate reports and presentations. It can be more difficult to plan specific activities. It feels more high-level than activity-level. It shows totals rather than individual transactions (either past or future transactions).

Pros

  • I love how easy it is to track software and general amortizations in Adaptive. The software has been an issue with my past employers, but it flows very easily here in Adaptive.
  • We also use Adaptive's OfficeConnect for easy reporting. It has helped us automate our reporting as we work with internal departments. We have the reports built, and the software and can refresh all of them simultaneously, reducing generation time and giving us more time for analysis.
  • We are building out more operational metrics now. We are starting to track sales opportunities across different business segments to see the correlation between spending activities and opportunity generation. This helps us set better targets in the future. This paired with OfficeConnect also makes it very easy to track and report on operational metrics in addition to financial metrics.

  • Access data of interest (about the clients, their histories, products, prices, etc.,) from any place with access to the internet
  • An extensive knowledge about the clients allows the company to present commercial offers adapted to their needs, so the income is also higher, through a lower sales cycle. The CRM allows to enhance sales and marketing functions.

  • The format of reports when downloaded to Excel or PowerPoint could use improvement.
  • Would be nice if you could inactivate GL accounts when they are no longer being used.
  • Suppress rows functionality when set by the administrator to default to suppress if not data doesn't always seem to work.

  • Cost is always an element to consider when purchasing a computer solution, both for the purchase of the software and for its maintenance, many forget about the ongoing support costs that come with software.
  • Many systems are backed up automatically through the cloud or through some other solution, but not all. So there is a good chance that the data will be lost. it is therefore necessary to take the safe backup forecasts in the event of any unforeseen occurrence and cause us an unpleasant surprise.
  • There is a difference between being served by a real person when making a phone call, to an automated attention system. Sometimes it is good to make the tasks more automatic, but it is also good to have a little personalized help to avoid losing the human value of relationships.

Menus are easy to navigate, sheets are straightforward and flexible and you can work on your budget/forecasts without being at the office. The cloud based system makes it easy for users to complete their processes offsite and without needing there work provided computer. Creating new reports using both the web based Adaptive tool and OfficeConnect is quite simple with very minimal training.

Breadth of Deployment

It is used throughout the company in different divisions and at our corporate level. When used in a division recently the personnel from different departments directly inputted data and monitored their budget against actual. It is very user friendly and flexible.

Alternatives Considered

To be honest - Host Analytics seemed relatively similar to Adaptive. However, Adaptive was our number one choice because:- The Adaptive suite looked a lot better. It seemed smarter and "sharper" and the data visualisation was better.- The people from Adaptive throughout the selection process were more helpful and insightful. This was confirmed throughout the implementation where we had really excellent service and help from Adaptive.

Sales management is based on the management of customer relationships and must be centralized so that its analysis is effective. The data that is collected must be available for the generation of statistics for decision making by the directory. This tool allows us to generate the necessary data to generate results, save time and production cost. The other products did not fit our objectives.

Return on Investment

  • The most positive impact has been on time. While it took some time to get things set up correctly, once we did, we were able to report results very quickly.
  • The budgeting process has gone much more quickly.
  • What-if scenarios are a little trickier. There are multiple ways you can do it. We have chosen to use assumptions for percentages and then copy the original version to a "what-if" version and change the assumption it is pointing to. However, this is a bit clunky.
  • Month-end reporting is getting faster and faster the more we automate through Adaptive.
