As a small business with 50 employees, we were looking for a straightforward, reliable payroll system. ADP has fulfilled that goal for us. RUN Powered by ADP® offers a range of core payroll features, including automated tax calculations and compliance support, which are essential for our smaller organization. It allows us to have our payroll done by the office manager and not have to incur the added expense of hiring a payroll specialist.
I would not use this company for anything. [I believe my] employees [absolutely] hate the software and there are constantly glitches in the software which occur every payroll run, benefits enrollment, etc. [I have spent] large amounts of time on the phone with outsourced customer support[,] so think twice when comparing [the] cost to other providers. [I feel] you [will] need someone full time to deal with all of their issues. We are currently in the process of setting up another PEO company. The amount of money and time to implement ADP has been a huge loss.
The ease in which you can process payroll and year end (T4s). Ability to maintain payroll - enter upcoming changes (e.g. pay raises for a certain date) ahead of time. While we don't use it in my current company, in past ones the time & attendance integration with timesheets is fabulous. Our company uses a 3rd party scheduling & timesheet platform which also integrates with one click but is a little more work to maintain time off balances within ADP Workforce Now. We use the 3rd party platform (Evolia) for scheduling and timesheets as the management here wanted the ability to see salaried employees on site, have a chat feature, and some self-management on the employee side with the ability to swap shifts.

I do wish there were additional custom deductions available rather than a limited amount.
Sometimes employees have trouble accessing their account after the initial invite has been sent.
Sometimes employee accounts get locked due to a reused email if their profile is deleted before they've signed up. Only a call to support can correct it.

It is much better than the payroll system I used previously. The integrations that RUN has for on-boarding new hires are very convenient when they work properly. It saves a tremendous amount of time being able to email a link to new employees that allows them to enter much of their own demographic information. Due to the lack of support from the sales and service center we are looking at other options outside of ADP. Again it is a good system, it just lacks the support it deserves from the company employees. It is just unimaginable that you will need to reach out to a service provider several times for the same issue and not get it resolved.

I appreciated having that issue finally take care of. it was extremely disheartening to see the issue had not been resolved. At the time training was not as expansive as it is now. If it could go wrong it did for me so the process was difficult and lengthy. Either assign more than one specialist to the implementation process, or assign less clients to the implementation specialist. The process requires attention to detail and the ability to test and re-test as well as verify the information. It also requires a lot of back and forth between the client ant the implementation specialist, so they need to be readily available during the whole implementation process.
Paychex was the last company we were using before the switch. We had so many issues that we could not get resolved that I had contacted corporate twice. They had our out of state payroll taxes so messed up that we wound up getting our bank account frozen for non-payment. At the moment, we have not investigated any of the products available in the drop-down list provided. However, we have evaluated some other (unavailable) products and have been intrigued by the potential decrease in fees along with the potential for a much more "rich" benefit plan. RUN Powered by ADP® has had a meaningful impact on our business by reducing administrative time and lowering compliance risk. Automating payroll and tax filings has saved several hours per pay period that would otherwise be spent on manual calculations, tracking deadlines, and preparing filings. This time savings allows us to focus more on operations and client work.
The platform’s automated tax handling has also reduced the likelihood of penalties or missed filings, which provides financial and operational stability. While the cost of the service can increase as add‑ons are introduced, the reliability of payroll processing and compliance support offsets much of that expense.
Overall, RUN Powered by ADP® has contributed to smoother operations, fewer errors, and more predictable payroll cycles, which supports our broader goals of efficiency and compliance.

It has cost us more money from a financial aspect and then taken away my main/other job duties because I have to focus all of my time on ADP TotalSource and basically fixing errors that happen weekly/every time an employee is added or terminated (which is more than the normal company due to the nature of our business).
ADP WorkforceNow has provided a positive ROI for our company. It has saved me countless hours in the time I used to spend preparing reports, managing benefits, and annual enrollment, recruitment tracking, and much more.
The integration with Payscale has allowed our company to take every position in our organization and benchmark it to industries and job titles. This has allowed us to be more competitive on recruitment and retention.
