Likelihood to Recommend CaseWare Cloud has made it much easier to manage our practice. We use
CaseWare Working Papers and the SmartSync Server for all our GIFI and Compilation engagements, and it has provided many efficiencies when working on these engagements. It has also proved to be very useful when tracking time and billing our personal tax clients. We are able to keep relevant info for all our clients under the entities section, which has allowed us to maintain a high level of client service. I would recommend CaseWare Cloud and Time to anyone looking for tools to help manage their practice.

It takes a bit of dialing in at the onset but afterwards can be set to work very well on its own. Splitting invoices and other customizations was helpful in cases of large complicated invoices.
Read full review Pros Invoicing is very simple and highly customizable. CaseWare Time is easy to use and it is convenient to have the ability to set billing rates for individual staff and time codes. The memo section for entities allows us to include detailed notes and relevant info for clients in a space that is convenient to access. Integration with accounting software e.g. Xero (now owned by them) and QBO. Ability to auto-archive to many different cloud storage locations such as Google Drive and ShareFile. Read full review Cons Under the list of entities, it is not possible to show or search phone numbers. In order to do this, we had to manually move all of our client phone numbers from each entity to their corresponding contact. It would be much more convenient if there was a way to export phone numbers from entities to contacts, or if you could simply search phone numbers from the entities screen. Read full review Although it is great that they can automatically get bank statements and transactions once linked, these links have been very unreliable historically. Figuring out how to set up the automatic feed is cumbersome. You can land up being inundated with useless transaction data. you have to upload each document separately. The program cannot differentiate/split PDFs. Read full review Support Rating At the time we implemented Hubdoc (more than 2 years ago) it was quite cutting edge and did have strong advances from the competition plus its pricing was definitely more competitive (flat rate vs price per data extraction model). However, currently the competition has caught up and now many of Hubdoc's core features are being built into online accounting software natively.
Read full review Alternatives Considered We researched similar products from Wolters Kluwer before making our purchase. We felt the features in CaseWare Cloud were better suited to our needs. Our previous experience with CaseWare and our desire to continue using
CaseWare Working Papers is the main reason we made the decision to choose CaseWare Cloud.
Read full review I don't have hands-on experience with any of the other software I mentioned. I have done a good deal of research with them, but did not find any particularly compelling reasons why they were better. The real reason I selected Hubdoc was because they offered a free, no-strings-attached lifetime account for QuickBooks ProAdvisors. Had they not offered that, I would not have tried it or been writing this review. Great job on the partner program, Hubdoc!
