Litmos is a cloud-based Corporate LMS. Core features include a course builder, assessments and quizzes, surveys and feedback, eCommerce, virtual classrooms, certifications, course library, SCORM and TIN CAN support, reporting, and gamification tools.
Recruiting and human resources is a good use for this tool. To some degree, reporting is fairly appropriate as well, unless you want super detailed reports, then I would say no. Anything related to managing candidate flow and making the recruitment process easier is where this tool is best used, upgrades need to be made so it's more useful in other areas before rolling out.
When considering the positives and negatives, I think the positives outweigh the negatives. In particular, Litmos is well suited for organizations who are ready to outsource their employee training needs. It is also well suited for organizations with diverse employee groups. Litmos may be less appropriate for groups that are small enough to handle employee training in-house and don't need to expend resources from an outside vendor.
The commands and controls are fairly user friendly. This is a positive because as recruiters we don't want to waste time having to learn odd or awkward controls, we just want to intuitively click.
The original implementation process was fairly seamless according to industry standards. This made for a smoother rollout, testing, and implementation phase. We didn't waste too much time with overly complicated technical issues, etc.
The reporting function needs to be vastly improved. You can run the most basic reports, but if you want to get more granular it requires customization, extra fees, and involving a developer. This piece should be made easier.
The lag time between load screens, clicking new screens, etc. was very slow at times. We don't believe this was a connectivity issue, rather something on Technomedia's end.
Support page needs to be designed for one product, not every product
I would like a representative to whom I could ask simple questions without going thru support tickets
They eliminated our own onboarding person to help understand the program when we purchased it so I have to research every question I have--a real time waster
For what we need in the very near future, Litmos does not offer us the required capability. Ideally, we are looking for an integrated LMS, coaching, mobile support and content creation platform. Litmos may have the LMS part covered but there are other platforms that do this better along with providing an integrated all-in-one service or at the very least support API integration with other vendors to meet our requirements.
I truly know the system better than anyone else in this company - I know what this system can and cannot do. It shapes the lives of people in this organization on so many levels. even Executives use it - that says a lot.
We rarely have issues with down time. Obviously, the user's browser, etc. can come into play. But, overall, this is what I would call stable software. And, it has the advantage of being accessed over the internet so learners can access from home if they want.
They still have a way to go with their reporting. But, they have been working on this and they continue to improve.
Aside from reporting, I would say that SAP Litmos performs very well. I rarely have any issues at all - even given the things I normally have open on my computer!
The knowledgebase is very generic, so beyond some basic, "this is how you use Litmos", I am not super impressed with the self-service options for troubleshooting issues or finding best practices from peers. Getting a response from specialists also takes a great deal of effort. The initial ticket is almost never where my answer comes from, so I have to wait on the escalation to take place, and usually that goes to an account specialist. Once I get that, there is usually a back and forth before we agree on what the issue is. Service is always courteous, but not efficient. I am never sure where my ticket stands with regard to escalation/processing, so I have to inquire. Service tickets and service are not a clean process right now, at least not for me. Nothing like it was during our implementation.
We have done two implementations. The first wasn't completed by me, but the second was. I had to do a lot of data migration across from the first system into the new instance. This was really time-consuming, and it would have been great to have had an option for someone else to have completed this for us. Learning about the tool has also been up to us, and whilst the content was good, it was also high level and broad, and then getting into the specifics of our setup was really just left to us to complete on our own and have a go. We got there, but probably could have been faster with some additional support from a consultant.
Technomedia stacks up below the other listed programs. It may solve the bare minimum of your issues, but when it comes to solving more complex issues and processes, it lacks. When you want to add additions or customize things, the process is very costly and labor intensive as well. If it were priced lower, it would make more sense, but there are much better solutions out there.
Adding in D2L and clarifying Articulate's RISE LMS platform I would say that Docebo had the best platform in terms of it's UI and some of the features it offered. But overall, SAP Litmos won in terms of administrator capabilities and ease of use.
We have seen a tremendous increase in adoption rates from our previous LMS system, from approximately 5-10% viewership on newly-released content to consistently around 90%!
Automated reporting to go out to managers we suspect had a significant impact on compliance.
From our previous LMS system, our users report better mobile access and easier navigation.
