Well Suited - It's very easy for a non-developer to make clear/easily understood important data displaysGreat options for displaying data, UI provides great assistance helping you determine what chart, graph etc., to utilize for peak output.Saves tons of developer hours by allowing non-developers to be able to create and design things.Less Suited - It's not a big fan of displaying 1000 page PDFs but with adequate setup and drill downs, you can turn that huge PDF into 2 pages of what you actually need.

iHub is a decent enough environment that it serves our needs. We can have unlimited users and it can tie into AD although we do not use that feature currently. It is a decent place to store all of the reports in one location, even though for us it is not visually appealing to the end users.iHub is not a place where you want to create robust/interactive dashboards for end users to drill through and follow a "story".

  • The ability to easily integrate data across multiple data platforms
  • The product is easy to implement and learn
  • The elemental design allows for recycling of concepts and features across various reports and output
  • The security was easy to implement into our existing environment
  • The number of options available for data manipulation and presentation, including Scheduling and Caching data, makes it easy to solve any problem or create content for any request
  • Logi's Support Portal staff are absolutely top notch. They are responsive and knowledgeable. Due to the elemental design (see above), it is easy to communicate concepts to and from Logi Support via code samples and/or sample applications. The sample applications which we have received from Logi Support have formed some of the core concepts of our Logi Developer training!

  • It is fairly easy to set the sharing rules for a report/dashboard.
  • They have a decent amount of time frame options for setting a schedule to generate a report.
  • The support is mostly helpful and timely if you have an issue.

Logi Analytics

  • Logi Studio is currently only available on Windows. I understand the backend is ASP.net but it would be nice to have more flexibility in this given their software can also be java-based (we run their software on a Linux server using java).
  • Logi Info keeps all files as XML, which is fine and actually helps in terms of scripting report creation. The issue is that the majority of settings can only live on a server instead of a database. They do allow reports to now live in a database, but other aspects (such as users saving bookmarks and reports) cannot be and are all saved directly on the server.

  • Setting up a "dashboard" is extremely lacking in functionality. The different chart widgets you place on the page do not interact with each other. When you select an item from one do not expect it to highlight or filter another.
  • The speed and stability are not great, but maybe that is just our environment not being up to snuff...even though we are above the "recommended" settings.
  • The main GUI for a user is TERRIBLE. You log into a File Tree format where you have to navigate folders to reach the correct dashboard. There are ways around this, but it would either require an expensive payment to the Professional Services team to revamp to UI or another option they gave us was to create the "Default Dashboard" and provide that link to users and in that Dashboard, you use a new tab to include the navigation back to the main screen so that at least on the initial load the user is taken to a friendly looking dashboard instead of a file tree.

Logi Analytics is a great solution if you need just the user interface. However there are other tools stronger at the overall data flow which include a user interface as part of their product.

It can be embedded on top of a website for direct analysis. I feel this is a way faster and a better solution. This is like an integrated solution. That's why the firm selected Logi Analytics for quick insights on customer behavior and data.

Our instance of iHub does not stack up against the other larger BI tools out today. It is a good place to store reports in a central location that allows users to run very specific reports on demand, but it is not a place I would want to store all of my "dashboards". As far as holding individual reports that are specific to an individual need, it is a great tool. If you want to create a report that will be used as a Template for a Form or a Label, iHub is a good choice to store and schedule the report or call it via API to generate it and return it to your calling app.

  • We have used LOGI to automate work processes that used to be paper-based.
