GridBuddy Connect has proven to be an invaluable tool for sales teams, allowing them to verify sales opportunities and easily pull in contacts, accounts, and activity into grids. By replacing the mass edit tool within Salesforce, it streamlines the data verification and editing process, resulting in increased efficiency. Users have found that the ability to view and edit multiple customer accounts or opportunities at once saves valuable time for sales reps, management, and executives.

For wholesalers who need to manage large numbers of customers, GridBuddy Connect reshapes the traditional Salesforce user interface into a grid system. This enables wholesalers to effectively use Salesforce for their specific needs. The software also facilitates efficient data entry by capturing and inputting multiple attendances in Salesforce simultaneously, eliminating the time-consuming task of manual data entry.

One of the standout features of GridBuddy Connect is its real-time and visual data manipulation capabilities. Unlike Dataloader, which only allows batch updates, GridBuddy Connect provides users with immediate visibility of changes as they happen. This makes it easier for users to track changes and ensures that they have an up-to-date view of their data.

Non-profit organizations utilizing GridBuddy Connect have found it particularly useful for managing donor thank you calls, program event check-ins, and maintaining address information on accounts and contacts. By allowing simultaneous viewing and updating of multiple records, the software significantly reduces the time needed for these tasks.

GridBuddy Connect also proves beneficial for cross-department coordination within organizations. It provides an easy-to-use system for community partners by structuring ordering systems, tracking inventory, and arranging transactions. Additionally, logistics teams find value in this tool as it acts as a filtered, editable report without requiring them to open each record in a new tab.

The development team within organizations has also embraced GridBuddy Connect for creating and editing opportunities, contacts, and organizations. It simplifies these processes by providing a spreadsheet-like feel within Salesforce, enabling quick and easy entry of multiple rows of data. Moreover, the software functions as an in-client Excel spreadsheet, allowing for quick and editable data review and editing.

In summary, GridBuddy Connect proves to be a versatile tool that solves various problems across different industries and departments. With its ability to streamline data verification, enable simultaneous viewing and editing of multiple records, and provide real-time visual data manipulation capabilities, it has become an essential asset for organizations seeking efficiency and productivity in Salesforce.

Users found the software intuitive, allowing them to quickly navigate and utilize its features without much training or technical knowledge. The straightforward setup process further enhanced their experience, enabling them to start using the tool efficiently in a short amount of time.

Efficient Workflow with Multiple Objects: Many users have appreciated GridBuddy Connect's ability to pull multiple objects into one grid, which has greatly improved their workflow efficiency. By consolidating data from different sources into a single view, users can seamlessly work with related records and perform actions across various objects simultaneously. This feature eliminates the need for constantly switching between screens or tabs, streamlining processes and saving valuable time.

Flexible Customization and Layouts: A notable number of reviewers have highlighted the value of GridBuddy Connect's personalized layouts and multiple views. This functionality allows users to customize how they organize and display data according to their specific needs. With the ability to create unique layouts tailored to different use cases or user preferences, GridBuddy Connect offers flexibility in data management that enhances productivity and usability for customers.

Unrelated Object Pulling: Some users have experienced difficulties retrieving desired information due to a slight issue with pulling unrelated objects in GridBuddy Connect.

Challenging Lookup of Related Fields: The efficiency of tasks has been impacted for some users who found it challenging to lookup related fields, especially in the Salesforce workspace.

Cumbersome Tabbed Pages on Small Screens: Users with smaller screens have encountered a cumbersome double scroll experience as the tabbed pages within GridBuddy do not auto-fit based on screen size.

Users commonly recommend the following:

  1. Learning and Configuration: Users acknowledge that the tool may require some effort to learn and configure the grids. They suggest working with the Gridbuddy team for best practices and guidance.

  2. Time-saving and Efficiency: Many users find the tool to be great and mention that it saves a significant amount of time. The tool's ease of use and ability to adapt well at scale make it suitable for both small and large enterprises.

  3. Lead Generation and Funnel Management: Users highly recommend using Gridbuddy for lead generation management, as they consider it a big time saver. It is also mentioned that the tool is great for sales unit management, allowing multiple teams or individuals to utilize its features effectively. Reps find it particularly useful for updating opportunities and believe it makes a significant difference in funnel management.

One important suggestion from users is to approach Gridbuddy with an unbiased mindset, being prepared to learn as the product description may not always align with expectations. Additionally, some users have mentioned that support can be slow at times, but overall they still recommend the tool due to its user-friendly interface that aligns well with their business needs.

We use Gridbuddy to capture clients' attendance. It is used by one of our departments who use the tool to input multiple attendances in Salesforce. It makes data entry efficient and less time-consuming.
  • Easy to install and maintain
  • Good customer support in case we encounter any issues
  • Solves the issue of mundane data entry
  • Efficient and time saving
  • Does not support some web browsers
  • If Grid is not displayed, hard to troubleshoot
  • There could be room for improvement in using GridBuddy filters
GridBuddy is very well suited for multiple data entry where users need to enter multiple data at the same time. It is less appropriate in situations where we have less # of data and sensitive data need to be entered.

GB is currently being used in one department that is a breakoff position of our sales team. It is used for verification of sales. We use it for verifying Opportunities but we also pull in contacts, accounts and activity into our grids.
  • User friendly.
  • Pull multiple objects into one grid.
  • Layouts are seamless to work through.
  • Pulling unrelated objects has been a slight issue.
  • Related to fields are not as easy to lookup as Salesforce.
Working on data only, it is perfect and compact. It gets rid of unnecessary clutter. If you use click to dial, it is not yet supported so unfortunately not suitable for a call center.

It is predominantly used by our operations team. It gives a spreadsheet-like feel to Salesforce where it is fairly quick and easy to enter multiple rows of data quickly. We have another team in logistics that essentially uses it as a filtered, editable report which is easier than opening each record in a new tab.
  • Quick data entry.
  • Filtered, editable report-like structure.
  • Spreadsheet-like feel.
  • There is a limit of about 40 fields that can be added to a grid.
A process where you would like to be able to edit a report in-line or a process where you need to enter or manage data similar to how you work in a spreadsheet have been the ideal use cases for our teams. You can also embed these as tabs to make it easy to navigate to.

I manage TaskRay Projects for 30+ Salesforce Users. Each of those 30+ Projects has 130+ tasks, which are mostly the same across the tasks. Sometimes I need to edit the task across all 30+ projects, which is where GridBuddy comes in. It makes it easy for me to pull up all the projects and tasks I need to edit, and quickly apply mass changes. The ability to highlight certain lines in GridBuddy is also very helpful when I'm looking for tasks.
  • Mass updates.
  • Grid/table format.
  • Save grid views.
  • A bit complex to set up grids.
  • Limit to how many grids you can save.
  • Limits on long text fields.
GridBuddy is well suited for someone who manages a lot of items on Salesforce and doesn't want to click on each one to make a change. For the everyday user, it may not be necessary since it isn't intuitive.

GridBuddy is used by myself (Director Sales Operations) and our VP Marketing.
We use GridBuddy to clean up data, make mass changes, [and] update loads of information in SFDC all at one time.
A simple example is when we have [a] change or move of a Sales Rep, or a new Sales Rep. In a matter of minutes, I can move the ownership of all needed Opportunities, Leads, Contacts and Accounts to the new person. What I particularly like about GridBuddy is the both the real-time nature of it and the visual nature of it. As opposed to using Dataloader for such data manipulations, which is not visual (I can't see the changes as they happen) and done in batches rather than real-time in front of my eyes.
  • It's visual, with all of the data you need to change is right there in front of your eyes.
  • It's real-time, you can see the change right when you make the change.
  • Ease of use. Once you have your grid setup, it's a piece of cake.
  • I like that you can make related objects to the primary object in the Grid, in order to make some rather deep changes to data that would be done one-at-a-time in the normal SFDC interface.
  • I would like to see the limits increased on the number of records that can be edited in some of the objects. Many have a limit of 50 at one time (per page) and if I have to change 1000 records then I have to do the same thing 20 times in a row.
  • Sometimes I find it a bit difficult to get the fields from a related object (related to the primary object) into the grid. Sometimes the "connection" to the primary grid is a bit confusing.
  • That's really it. Everything else I like GridBuddy.
1. Making broad changes to data, like moving ownership of records from one user to another for a new Sales Rep or a moved Sales Rep.
2. Making broad changes to data for product changes, product introductions and such (product naming changes, product description changes, etc.).
I recently had to make a change to the name of a Product Option. Product Options are a sub-object related to Product. This name change was in 22 places. Okay, 18 [is] not a lot, but to make this change individually 22 times is still very tedious and takes too much of my time. Instead, I set up my Grid with the Object and sub-Object and made all 22 changes at once with a mass change. Piece of cake. And I don't have to go back to several of the records to see if the change was made successfully (something you have to do with Dataloader). I could see the effective change all at once on my Grid screen.

It's currently being used by the Development (fundraising) team. We use it primarily to create & edit opportunities, contacts, organizations. There has been some use cases for cleaning up our data with Grid Buddy.
  • Mass Create
  • Mass Edit
  • User-Friendly
  • The link between Opportunity and Payment object does not work
  • I wish there were a "view all" for the results
  • I wish it didn't kick me out of Gridbuddy (not Salesforce itself) after an hour or so of use
Grid Buddy is GREAT for mass creating records, especially when many of the fields are going to be the same across.

GridBuddy is used by the outbound salespeople in the company, The reshaping of the traditional Salesforce user interface, into the grid system that GridBuddy offers, means that a wholesaler like us who has enormous numbers of customers, can use salesforce in a meaningful way.
  • Reshapes the user Interface into an intuitive, clean, easy and thoughtful way, meaning Salesforce can be practically used for applications that (in my Opinion) salesforce was never designed for.
  • Mass updates are a God send, Leaving quick and meaningful notes, setting up meetings with clients or upcoming calls to maintain contact, all from the same screen without information overload... a real achievement.
  • GridBuddy seems to be a real solid solution for us. And although it's likely not suited to everyone, those who do a high volume of customer interaction will likely prefer the GridBuddy front end over the traditional page by page based Salesforce front end.
High Volume call centers, with huge amounts of small detailed notes, that are accessed by single salespeople or in sales groups, will all benefit from Gridbuddy.

GridBuddy is being used by many departments across the whole organization and helps to manage multiple groups of data easily.
  • Easy setup
  • User experience
  • Data loads quickly
  • Building templates
  • Nested rows
  • Cost per grid
Displaying grouped information together works well but sometimes folks don't understand what they are editing (e.g. a related object and record).

When we first started with Grid Buddy, it was solely to replace our mass edit tool within SalesForce. 2 years later, we have multiple workspaces, embedded grids throughout our page layouts, and a large majority of the company is using it in some form. The problem that it addresses in our company is to be able to not only look at data but see layers of data in one place and allows the teams to action off of the data. Making things streamlined and efficient to get in and do what they need to.
  • Layered Reporting: The ability to bring in data from 3 objects, unlike Salesforce reports.
  • Mass Edit: In comparison to inline editing, it allows the ability to create multiple views, personalized layouts, and again seeing, more than one object at a time.
  • Workspaces: Ability to create a space with all the important grids a user needs.
  • Within the workspaces /tabbed pages, I wish the pages would auto fit depending on the size of the screen vs having to choose a particular size. What happens is you end up with the DBL scroll and it can be annoying on a smaller screen.
Well Suited: Any place where you want to be able to action off of what you see. Less Appropriate: When you just need to look at one object of data in a report or from a manager view when you are trying to just look at overall data with no action required.

We are using GridBuddy to view a lot of Salesforce data in a quick, easy-to-use and editable view. It essentially translates Salesforce data into an in-client Excel spreadsheet, allowing us to edit and review data quickly without creating cumbersome and uneditable Salesforce reports. Displaying these grids directly on a page layout for an object has also streamlined this process, as we can review many donations and opportunities easily without leaving the screen.
  • Mass editing of Salesforce data.
  • Displaying related list data on a page layout.
  • Easy review of data in-line with other information.
  • User interface looks a bit outdated.
  • Too many related objects in the list causes the layout to look offset.
  • Grids take a while to set up and load.
GridBuddy is great to review a lot of data in a quick and easy screen and embed that information on page layouts. For example, we use it to review opportunities, tasks, and other pieces of information that there are tons of to allow for mass editing/adding of information. It is also helpful to display that information on the contact record, allowing for us to mass-edit in-line related list data, which is not possible in regular Salesforce.

All of our front line sales reps, as well as our sales management and executives, use GridBuddy to view and edit multiple customer accounts or multiple opportunities all at once. This is a feature that neither of our latest two CRMs does a good job of. GridBuddy saves a lot of time for our users by allowing them to manage all their opportunities together.
  • Allows users to edit multiple opportunities or accounts in a single view at one time.
  • Integrates well with our CRMs and fills in gaps in functionality of our CRMs.
  • Allows secure access control for users to ensure they can only view or update CRM data we want them to have access to.
  • Easy administration of the tool.
  • We have used GridBuddy with both Salesforce and SAP C4C. We didn't have any problems when it was synced to Salesforce, but when synced to SAP C4C we have had a few problems, which makes me think the integration with it isn't as mature. See subsequent points with details.
  • When synced with SAP C4C, we are unable to use multi-level sorting on custom fields. Multi-level sorting is apparently only functional on standard C4C fields.
  • Our current instance of GridBuddy synced with C4C has been stuck in a metadata refresh for four weeks, so we can't use new C4C fields until this is resolved.
  • Support has been slow and not too impressive at least since using GridBuddy with C4C. It took a couple of months to finally diagnose the issue with multi-level sorting with different employees giving us different answers and eventually they told us the sorting wasn't working with C4C custom fields. It has been over three weeks since we reported that our metadata refresh was stuck and other than an acknowledgment that our issue had been forwarded to the product team, I have had no updates.
I would use GridBuddy with Salesforce. It has some benefit for us with C4C, but it has been problematic and not as beneficial as we expected.

At my mid-sized nonprofit organization almost every Salesforce user also uses GridBuddy. Uses include managing donor thank you calls (to Contacts, related to Opportunities and Tasks) that are assigned to staff, managing program event check-ins, reviewing and cleaning address information on Accounts and Contacts, and reviewing and updating the status and other fields on Campaign Member records in a variety of different situations. It allows our staff to view and update multiple records simultaneously, rather than having to go to each record separately, so it is a big time saver.
  • Displaying fields from multiple related objects in one easy to read view.
  • Allowing field updates to multiple fields and records at the same time.
  • Filtering and displaying only the records relevant to a specific user.
  • Does not allow users to create new Campaign Member records; we would like to be able to add multiple Campaign Member records to a Campaign in a Grid.
  • Does not allow users to create new Task records; we would like to be able to add multiple Tasks records related to the same user but multiple Opportunities and Contacts.
GridBuddy is a very good tool for allowing users to work with multiple records simultaneously and saves a great deal of time for staff who have to view and edit multiple similar records. We have used it very happily for a number of years at our nonprofit organization. I would rate it more highly than 7 except for the fact that GridBuddy was acquired by a larger software company and the pricing has been raised significantly. It used to be a very affordable solution for small and mid-sized nonprofit organizations but it is now much harder for organizations in this market to afford the product.

Our agency collects products and stores them in a warehouse that our community partners then make an order for. We are able to use GridBuddy to structure the ordering system, track inventory, and arrange transactions. Our partners are very pleased with how easy it is for them to use the system, how crisp and clean the entries and data appears, and from a user management perspective, my users are quite pleased.
  • GridBuddy shows inventory data very well.
  • GridBuddy makes tracking information very easy.
  • Developer side
  • Training side
  • Customer service side
The Scenarios where GridBuddy works very well are in inventory and tracking. We are very pleased with the capabilities of the software. I would not use Grid Buddy, or rather don't see a usage, for health care or tracking purposes. I have not used the product for other purposes so I cannot objectively state it does a poor job in one way or another.
