We have been using Lifesize for a number of years now and this was the first system of its kind that has been used at our firm. We were able to replace our conference room phones with out Lifesize units and that was a small but of time and resource savings.
It is much easier from both a tech and aesthetics standpoint to have just the one system in the room.

Lifesize is the first and only video conference system installed at our organization. Before this, we all had been using Skype calls, attached to a PC or mobile client, but had no way to have big conferences with 10+ participants at each side as Skype only works for a self-use experience.

Lifesize was initially meant to totally replace GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar. However the few app limitations we faced made this choice impossible. To be able to replace GoToMeeting, we would need Lifesize to clearly improve their app, stabilize them, and offer more functionalities around the user management. To get rid of GoToWebinar, we would need Lifesize to handle at least 150 people in a webinar (today their limitation is around 50).
I'd rather answer the question by comparing it to the other products we tested during our POC. Lifesize was the most intuitive, super easy to set up, it had an excellent video and audio quality. Some other solutions were so hard to set up, we couldn't even start one of them because of that. With Lifesize, you don't need to press buttons on a remote control in front of your TV. Everything is automatic. You just start the meeting using the touch screen. You share your laptop screen by connecting the HDMI cable (no need to change the source of the TV). This super automated workflow was really promising, and today we are totally satisfied with this room system.

We used to use Polycom Real Group Presence equipment. This equipment had all the bells and whistles. Sadly, with SO MANY options, it was terribly confusing to use the equipment. My people were inadvertently amending options and settings that would need to be fixed. This was a constant issue. If I wasn't in the room to conduct the meeting, I had little certainty that it would go smoothly.
LifeSize is easy to use: my team rarely has a single issue with it.

It didn't replace, but we also use GoToMeeting and GoToTraining because others on campus came from environments which used those products and the familiarity overrode the desire to learn a new product.
One product we use provides free recording of sessions, whereas with Lifesize we have to enter into a pay for recording situation that isn't cost effective for us.

No other product. We were hosting all live meetings before. SometimesWhatsAppp message groups were held to coordinate employees.
It makes a huge difference in coordinating large teams across departments. The most important factors to us was the ability to share a live feed of the conference room and have people interact in real time to discuss ideas and solutions.

It has not replaced another product. It complements our use of WebEx and Lync. I believe we have too many ways to do similar collaboration functions. Each has their sweet spot, but it can be overwhelming for some users to know what to use.

Cisco Video Conferencing
At the time of consideration, we were looking for an audio conference tool with screen sharing capabilities. This particular tool packed a little too much punch for us to feasibly onboard, though I wish they had a lower tier so that we could eventually upgrade when the more advanced features made sense.
