We shifted to this during the pandemic for our monthly board and committee meetings. It complements the RingCentral phone system well and does not cost very much for use to use which is very important for a non-profit like Job Point.
  • Easy to use.
  • Great video quality.
  • Good sound quality.
  • Add polling functionality.
  • Add break-out rooms.
  • Add custom backgrounds.
It is great for organizations that need decent functionality at a fair price or who don’t already have an integrated solution for unified communications.

  • Kept us safe during pandemic.
  • Allowed operations to continue.
  • Better than audio-only meetings.
RingCentral Video has nearly all the functionality of the more established commercial products but comes at a lower price point. This is incredibly important for smaller businesses and non-profit entities.

Obviously, we use RingCentral for our virtual meetings. We are using it for interviews, clients meetings, internal meetings, and happy hours. Meeting virtually does a substantial amount to solve our problem of not being in the office or being able to be in front of customers regularly. We still meet with clients who use TEAMS, ZOOM, etc... so we are seeing all the platforms and Ringcentral actually works pretty well. There are a few bugs that never seem to get fixed, but once you work around a few things, it's easy to use and idiot-proof. The biggest PROs are it's easy to use and is pretty reliable. The cons are the apps are clunky and not well designed. We get a lot of external people asking us to use their virtual meeting platform of choice because they "don't want to register". Even though you don't have to register to use RingCentral, that isn't super obvious [on] the login page. And my biggest con is the format RingCentral uses on the Outlook invite is analog and 5 thousand letters long. All in all, it's all about the product though, and it is a good product for the price.
  • connection quality is good
  • idiot proof and easy to use
  • web based and dont have to setup profile (guests)
  • RingCentral has changed/updated their apps an annoying amount
I think RingCentral Video [is easier] to use than a lot of other platforms. If you are communicating externally the majority of the time I don't think there are a ton of differentiators unless you are looking for features beyond the video chat. For us, we use the call system which is just okay. At the end of the day, we like the video chat quality and price as they [use a similar platform as zoom].

  • It gets the job done and we have probably saved a nominal amount bc we use other features as well compared to competitors
Quality-wise, RingCentral Video, functionality differs a little, but who really cares as long as it is easy to use and not crashing all the time. The service and support [are] fine [and] the functionality is fine as well. There aren't a whole look of things to really compare besides price and additional features. That is where you will need to look to find your best solution. All in all, we are pretty happy with RingCentral Video.

RingCentral is currently being used to communicate with the client, we set meetings and have long conversations using screen sharing, usually without video but with it sometimes. Now, in the work at home part of our life, it is very important to maintain fluent and reliable communication, and RingCentral allows us to do that.
  • Audio quality is always good if we have good internet.
  • Sharing the screen is easy and simple for every user.
  • Reliability, as all the conference software we need to make sure it's there whenever we need it.
  • The software might be a bit heavy at first glance, it's worth it though.
  • Many people are still using other platforms like Zoom, therefore, you may need to wait for them to download the software or answer set-up questions in the first meeting (more advertising from the company would help here as well).
Whenever you want to have a quick conference with a coworker, share screens and draw on boards, RingCentral is good. If the person already has it installed, that is a plus.

  • It helps us create a better picture of the goals and updates that we need to do to our everyday activities, not relying on emails that may or may not be clear.
  • It's easy for everyone to join and we can coach in a more personal way.
RingCentral was selected by our client because of the ease to be used; I would compare it with Webex in reliability and user-friendliness. Not the same for Google Meet, even when this one is free to use, the tools at your disposal and the UI are surpassed in quality by RingCentral.

We use RingCentral Video across the organization, for both internal meetings (between department members and with other departments in the same organization) and external meetings (with customers and suppliers). Having a virtual meeting tool has become critical during these times of the Covid-19 pandemic. Indeed, as people have become more used to virtual meetings and online collaboration, the workplace has also changed perhaps permanently as this sort of software becomes the norm.
  • Similar interface to RingCentral Meetings
  • Customer service is responsive and friendly
  • Good integration with O365
  • Only a rudimentary add-in for Outlook if using on-prem Exchange
  • Bugs in screen sharing that include an "application was minimized" error and the inability to share audio from a pre-recorded video
  • No simple way to join a RingCentral Video from the phone app without typing in the exact meeting ID, which can be tedious.
I would recommend RingCentral Video if a user or company is currently using RingCentral Meetings and is concerned with the security implications of using a Zoom-based platform. I would also recommend it if they are using O365 or G Suite presently. I would not recommend RingCentral Video if they are using MS Exchange on-prem. RingCentral Video is not as good as RingCentral Meetings, at present. It's also not as good as other meeting software, such as Cisco Webex.

  • RingCentral Video (RCV) has been a dud. It's not as user-friendly or as functional as RingCentral Meetings or Cisco Webex.
  • RingCentral Video is bundled with the overall RingCentral licensing. RingCentral phone service is good, but RCV is not.
  • Users have been reluctant to switch to RCV because it isn't as strong a platform as other options.
  • RingCentral has not plans to offer Exchange on-prem integration with RCV.
We selected RingCentral for calling and we got RingCentral Video as part of the bundle. We thought we could reduce costs by using RingCentral for both calling and meetings. However, RingCentral Video is simply not a mature platform for meetings. Other options are better, which makes RingCentral calling a less attractive option.
