SolarWinds is like hiring someone to just sit and watch your stuff 24/7 and you never have to feed them!
- As a busy IT team, we're able to sleep better knowing we have a tool that is monitoring 24 hours a day.
- We know that SolarWinds has historical data that will allow us to compare current issues to previous periods to help with assessing performance.
- We have minimized application, server, and network outage recovery times due to the fact that SolarWinds is fast to report issues and get us looking in the right areas for the solution.

Server and Application Monitor - Stay On Top of Your Outages
- It's a great product, but it's expensive. The initial investment can be hard to swallow.
- Our DBAs like the forecasting for CPU and disk usage. It helps guide them on decisions related to DB space usage so that they can be prepared to request additional disk when needed instead of completely guessing when the drive will fill.
- IIS application monitoring has helped our development and sys engineer teams quickly respond to web server outages. They get alerted, they fix it, and revenue impact is reduced. The historical data they can look back on helps them understand what happened before/during/after the outage.

Good but not Great. Headache to setup.
- Minimize server downtime.
- Correlations between application speed and resource usage.

- SolarWinds has alerted us to potential problems based on thresholds we have set up.
- SolarWinds also has the capability to store performance metrics which has allowed us to see differences over time.

Solarwinds - the whole package
- It allows us to show upper management a performance overview to show value
- Easy monitoring allows for a much faster MTTI ( mean time to innocence) when resolving issues with external partners

Solarwinds in quick terms.
- Your response time to fix specific applications is dependent on SAM providing application details. We would disrupt other services, if we could not pinpoint problem applications.
- We are able to run the shop without a dedicated SQL DB administrator, which saves on that overhead.
- We have been able to provide detailed information on database statistics to our outsourced storage provide to improve performance on those databases, ultimately offering a better end user experience.
- Our IT Team is able to take care of other projects and tasks and not be constantly checking the state of our environment, knowing that Solarwinds alerting will let us know if there are issues we should address.
- Very proactive and great visibility into your environment
- It does not offer real-time but the threshold can be configured to monitor within minutes.

Solarwinds SAM a good investment
- We rely on 100% uptime, so predictive monitoring has been especially helpful, particularly with aging equipment. Some of our legacy systems are on older physical servers and have not yet been virtualized, so SAM has given us the confidence that no problems have arisen that we are not aware of.
- For the low annual cost for SAM, it is a good investment to keep online for peace of mind.
- It has definitely had a positive effect on our infrastructure, by avoiding critical issues and adding to uptime.

- Positive impact: reduce response time to critical outages - usually before the end user is even aware there is an issue

- External hosted web site monitoring has allowed us to go back to the vendor and tell them they have a delivery problem. In some cases we have switched vendors because they have not been able to deliver the appropriate performance.
- SAM has helped educate employees that the problem is not internal infrastructure but service delivery infrastructure when it is an externally monitored service.
