Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat

We utilize Adobe Acrobat for various reasons. Primarily anytime we want to share a document and want to keep the formatting and layout we will use Acrobat for this. We also use it to sign invoices, often converting those documents into PDFs, but then using the Signature and date fields to sign off on the invoice. Finally, we use it to mark up documents not in Word format. That annotation tool is easy to use. Ultimately it solves the issue of ensuring consistency with how the documents look.
  • Maintains original document format and layout.
  • Ability to easily sign a document.
  • Easy to turn any document into a PDF.
  • Ability to edit a PDF, even if created from another file format.
  • At times, it feels like there are too many bells and whistles. I'd like to see a simplified workspace layout for the most common tasks to me.
  • Sometimes larger files can get clunky when converting over to a PDF.
  • I appreciate the consistency with the tools and layout of the program; however, I feel that Acrobat could use some layout updates for the software interface.
  • Create PDF.
  • Annotation markup.
  • Signatures and add other free form text such as a date.
  • Product Features
  • Product Reputation
  • Prior Experience with the Product
Anyone that has used an Adobe product, especially Acrobat, is already familiar enough with the features and layout. That makes it easier for someone who has used it in the past to do the same general, basic tasks that they always have used Acrobat for. I do feel like constantly adding features is critical as more and more software are expanding and doing many of the same tasks that you can do in Acrobat. I feel that Acrobat is reputable enough that it is a no-brainer for organizations to purchase and use.
  • Acrobat has reduced the time it takes for us to manually sign our non-digital invoices.
  • Being able to edit a pdf, even if you do not own the document has made it nice and easy for slight tweaks and modifications. Definitely saves us a lot of time.
  • Overall, our department became more efficient since we were working from pdf documents that maintained original layouts and formatting. Sometimes having multiple people working on a non-PDF document caused formatting issues, so this resolved those issues.
I think about all of the security and compliance standards that Adobe has implemented in their products, not just with Acrobat. Everything from Adobe sign and cloud security have been consistent with what I would expect from software used at an enterprise level. I feel that with each update, Adobe is taking security and compliance very serious and is calming to know.
  • Foxit PDF Editor (FoxitPhantom)
I have used Foxit in the past. While it did have an easy to use interface, and the ability to use OCR when scanning in paper documents worked just fine, I felt that the OCR feature in Acrobat worked just a little bit better. I think for the price, Acrobat still takes the prize as it is more advanced and stable, in my opinion.

Do you think Adobe Acrobat delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Adobe Acrobat's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Acrobat live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Adobe Acrobat go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Adobe Acrobat again?

Yes

I feel that Acrobat is universal enough that someone in our organization who might struggle with technology could still easily use Adobe Acrobat for the more common features. I do agree that not every document we markup needs to get converted into a PDF, so in those scenarios commenting on a non-PDF document also works for most in our organization. It just really matters when we want to ensure consistency in the layout of the original document and to prevent from editing that layout.
