Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am a Ph.D. student and have been working with Appsheet to collect data in the field through both on-site data collection and face-to-face surveys. The first use was related to garbage collection, and currently, I am working on urban green space usage preferences. I set up the apps and also use them on the field.

Pros and Cons

Being able to prepare an app almost without coding and without the need for a developer account is incredibly powerful.
Working on multiple platforms is a real bonus. I have been able to work with both Android and iOS devices on the field, without any kind of problems.
Developing, [...] testing, and refining the app is a very fluid process.
With a little extra work, and some extra programming, [multiple] language apps can be created.

Registering tracks would be a very good bonus for my line of work.
When creating a new app from a Google sheet, fields used as names or separators in the app structure could benefit from a clever way to be detected, similarly to other types of fields.
Setting personalized icons, besides the ones available, would also be a bonus.

Return on Investment

It is hard to quantify, but being able to produce effective and easy-to-use apps for field surveys, I have greatly improved my data collection capabilities.
Digital data collection also significantly reduces data preparation time for statistical analysis in software such as RStudio or JUMP.
Data integrity is greatly improved by reducing data collection errors and removing the analog-to-digital conversion step, which is a source of data errors.

I find Appsheet to be a very effective and productive tool for field surveys regarding point geolocated data. It is very practical for both long or short surveys, as well as for short or long survey periods. It is easy to implement interactive surveys, where the choice of an answer from multiple options [is] defined, which other questions are shown or hidden. Multiple users, with multiple user levels, can also be implemented with users [to] only see their own data, or specific parts of the app.

In my particular case, it is less appropriate for linear geolocated data, as I cannot store tracks.
