Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Blackbaud Education Management Solutions across the whole school--from admissions (enrollment management) through to development and fundraising (RE NXT) and in our business office with tuition managment and FE NXT.

Pros and Cons

Pros

UX: relatively easy to learn and easy to use interfaces and experience
Integration of experience from enrollment through graduation
Good customer service, support, and resources

Cons

Full integration beyond the academic system to Raiser's Edge; that is, better data connection between Core and RE NXT
A little more flexibility in terms of interactive academic assignments--COVID has shown where we might like more interactivity (not just multiple-choice assessments)
Making integration of video on the front page of the website easier to implement

Return on Investment

Positive in the one-stop location for core data
Negative in the work we have to do to get that core data to be updated in RE NXT

Support Rating

Ususally the support people are really helpful, but at times they are unable to assist or the product is not yet flexible enough to work for us, yet it is rolled out. Example: new report card builder. We are still frustrated with how the new report card builder looks for assessment reports with criteria. It is clunky. Meanwhile the new report cards and transcripts we built for the upper grades, with grades and written comments, are great.

Likelihood to Recommend

Blackbaud Education Management Solutions is particularly strong for grades 6-12, where students are fully interactive with the LMS--for assignments, schedule, grades, etc.
