Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst Switches

It is used to setup the enterprise networks which is used to support the daily work routine and administration of the organization. It is also used to extend networks between buildings to buildings across the entire country via the ISP WAN networks.
  • Cisco 2960X - Cheap and Relable
  • Cisco 3560-CX - Campact L3 switch that can do routing similar to a router.
  • Cisco 9300 - New Layer 3 switches which has faster performance.
  • IOS - if there is a standardize version to be used it will be good. Today there's 3 types.
  • Bugs and Vulnerability
  • Bluetooth console capabilities if possible rather than using the RJ45 console cable.
  • Nope. All were good.

Well, there are mean for different purpose to be used in setting up the network. 1. Router - used to connect the various remote offices to HQ networks 2. ACI - used at the Data Center end for reliable services offering which are typically connected to the server farms.

The amount of equipment needed and the type of equipment that will be more suitable for deployment.
Cisco Catalyst Swicthes are well suited for campus network setup while Nexus would be the better choice for data center one.

I'm the network engineer that helps to design and setup the network connectivity to support the hybrid setup.

Cisco products were easy to deploy and setup, provided that there is no delay in the overall shipment of the equipment.
Cisco was chosen as it was a reputable brand. Support wise it was good which issues are often resolved promptly by the Cisco TAC team.

Scalability. It's is important that the equipment can support for growth rather than having to replace the entire stack when there is a requirement to scale further. Cisco equipment can be stacked which allows it to support growth demands.
Nope. Follow the best practices as stated on Cisco portal.
No issues with the overall support from the vendor. They were responsive and good.
The vendor assisted to follow up with any issues we have reported promptly.
I have used the AS service to design and also to assist with the implementation. The engineer provide their advice and shared on how the setup should be, in accordance to their best practices.

Using Cisco Catalyst Switches

2000 - The support the daily operation of the organization in being able to access to intranet resources.
10 - Network Engineer or people who have prior knowledge on how to use and configure Cisco Equipment is required to support the use of the Cisco equipment.
The support is good.

Nope. Would still prefer reputable brand.

When there is a urgent need to get the equipment quickly delivered to support a project rollout, Cisco AM help to expedite the process of which the equipment was delivered in 4 weeks time instead of the usual 8 to 16 weeks lead time.
