Overall Satisfaction with EMS Software

We use EMS to manage all scheduling at the university (both events and academics) as well as resource and service allocation for items like A/V, parking and catering. Moving to EMS was crucial for us in order to centralize university scheduling, get real-time utilization data, and provide a user-friendly interface for end users to get the services and spaces they need.
  • EMS has great reporting capabilities both in standard reports but also the ability to create and customize your own.
  • The system is both customizable and adaptable. The company is constantly updating the software and providing enhancements.
  • The notification and automatic report features are a great way to increase communication in your organization.
  • The system can integrate and communicate with other campus applications.
  • Integration with Banner needs to be improved.
  • The parameters section can be really confusing.
  • We have wanted to customize the software with university branding but have had a hard time getting assitance from OIT. Having a service through EMS for this would be awesome!
  • The utilization data alone has been huge for advocating for more resources, staff, new spaces, etc.
  • EMS has provided a one stop shop for our community to host the events and classes they need without having to contact separate departments directly or utilize different programs.
  • EMS has helped to make our organization safer by providing information on where people are and what they are doing campus wide.
We used to use r25 and it did not have the breadth of functions and features that EMS had and the interface wasn't comparable.
We started small with just basic scheduling for 75 rooms and no additional services. We now manage over 1000 with added features from parking and A/V to caterings and foodtrucks!
I would say it is highly configurable and certain aspects are easy to edit but others I feel can be really complicated. We sometimes joke that we wish we has a EMS tech that worked directly for us.
EMS is great for managing/scheduling space and the associated services for that space.

We have had users try to manage housing through the program and while there is always a work around it really isn't meant to do so from my perspective.
