Google My Business, A Must for Small Businesses
Overall Satisfaction with Google My Business
I use our Google My Business listing to share our cafe's contact information, business hours, and other important details. I also use it to post updates and new product offerings. It's also valuable for allowing our customers to leave ratings on their experience and these ratings end up boosting curious customer's confidence in us.
Pros
- Boost customer's confidence
- Keep customers informed
- Makes us more discoverable by Increasing our SEO ranking
Cons
- The ability to offer coupons and offers.
- The ability to create custom Q&A fields.
- The ability to authenticate a reviewers identity and if they have indeed done business with you.
- Increase in phone calls
- Increase in website views
- Increase in sales
- Increase in requests for hours, offerings and directions
In my opinion, Google My Business is superior to Yelp. Google My Business is free for businesses, and so is Yelp. However, Yelp pressures you through constant phone calls and emails to [advertising] with them. I have never received this kind of pressure from Google. Google My Business seems to be more balanced in customer reviews than Yelp. Yelp seems to be the review site preferred by those who are more critical than affirming.
