Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Object Storage
I use IBM Cloud Object Storage primarily for rich data asset storage. As a developer who likes to play around with data, I find that IBM Cloud Object Storage is the perfect platform to host and manage unstructured data that can be made easily accessible either via the IBM portal or via an API call.
- Highly secure way of storing and sharing data as it needs authorization to be accessible.
- Pre-built API calls and code snippers make accessing data via secure APIs a breeze.
- Easy to migrate data to and from data storage
- Ability to manage large amounts of data with considerable speed
- Unexpected errors are known to occur when downloading/uploading files.
- Not easy to get started. In order to take full advantage of the platform and its features, additional training and reading documentation is needed.
- The UI of the platform can get a bit confusing and it's easy to get lost.
- Significantly reducing time-to-market
- Speeding up development times and facilitating dev-ops
- Unlocking scalability in data capability
When using IBM Cloud Object Storage, our team did not use the IBM Cloud SQL Query capability.
IBM Cloud Object Storage data migration capability is a true game-changer for data science teams working with large volumes of unstructured data. In my personal experience, transferring data to and from IBM Cloud Object Storage has been a fast, reliable, and straightforward process. It made the process of moving and sharing data across organizations a truly seamless experience.
Our organization took full advantage of the IBM Cloud Object Storage class tiers. This feature was one of the factors that influenced our decision to choose IBM Cloud Object Storage as our go-to solution for data management as it provided the flexibility we needed in order to more accurately match our organizational needs to expenditures as well as have a better overview of how our data needs can grow in the future.
In my personal experience using both Google Cloud Storage and IBM Cloud Object Storage, I think that IBM provides a much better service when it comes to uploading, managing and sharing files because of how easy and straightforward the process is. Overall, because of the added factors of data security, durability and reliable uptime IBM Cloud Object Storage was the logical choice.

The IBM ecosystem of tools is built with integration in mind so they naturally work well together. I found that when using tools such as IBM Watson Assistant and IBM Watson Discovery together, they work to each other's strengths--a match made in heaven. Overall, I have never had issues with integrating IBM tools and using them in tandem. In fact, I recommend it!
