Overall Satisfaction with IBM Security Guardium

For event analysis, it offers artificial intelligence and scanning capabilities for data anomaly investigation. Which helps finding and classifying sensitive and private data kept in the cloud or on premises very easy. And on top of that, monitoring databases and automating some tasks can also be done with it. Finally you will be given an anomaly score or how secure your database is to help you investigate the trend in your database.

  • Not every alert you get is due to an anomaly but sometimes it can also be due to false positives.
  • Support takes a lot of time to respond and documentation is not adequate.
  • And a missing functionality that I can think of is to add custom alert option through email.

  • Support is not good and takes time to respond which is quite annoying and not enough documentation.

Due to the slow response time of support and adequate documentation, the setup process can be challenging if done for the first time. But there are enough tutorials online so this should not be a big problem. And overall it is very easy to use and reduces your workload by automating most tasks.
Yes, it proactively monitor for data security threats though there were a few instances where the threat alerts were false positive. Though the false positives occur in very low frequency and should not be a big concern.

I very much recommend it due to its AI scanning abilities and being able to detect anomaly. Though not all alerts are an anomaly and there were cases that the alert was an false positive. Additionally it can automate most task hence reducing your workload.
