Overall Satisfaction with Progress Kendo UI

In my daily work I use Kendo UI for jQuery in the software development department. I write custom Kendo UI plugins that integrate components from different products. With its wide range of components, Kendo UI for jQuery is very useful to reduce development time.

  • Easiliy create custom (e.g. composite) plugins
  • Easiliy write Kendo UI plugins
  • Numerous widgets out of the box.
  • Responsive components
  • Theamable components
  • Highly customizeable components
  • No query builder widget available.
  • No timezone calendar. Timezone should be adjustable.
  • Grid: Timezone should be adjustable
  • With Kendo UI we didn't start from scratch. The gallery of live examples with full source code helped us to get started.
  • It was easy to integrate Kendo UI with other libraries and Frameworks (ASP.NET).
  • With Kendo UI we updated the user interface of our applications to modern looking web applications.
  • jQuery UI and knockout js
One of our partner companies is using Kendo UI for jQuery. In order to exploit synergies with our partner we selected Telerik Kendo UI for jQuery. Other selection criterias were a) the longevity of Telerik, b) the Support, c) the Performance and d) the scalability.

Kendo UI for jQuery library has a long history of great quality, frequent updates and an excellent documentation. There are lots of free technical training courses, the interactive training resource Kendo UI Dojo and lots of examples.

a) Scenarios where Kendo UI is well suited: Kendo UI provides awesome ways to either extend existing widgets, create custom plugins that are completely new widgets or composite of existing Kendo UI controls by inheriting from the base widget class. Kendo UI works well with ASP.NET Web API and OData. b) Scenarios where Kendo UI is less appropriate: Don't know.
