Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

First of all it is a good looking PDF viewer. All of the tools you need are intuitive findable. But the real power of Power PDF is when you have to create pdf forms with it. You are able to f.e. scan a document, because you haven‘t it anymore as a file. Power PDF has a really good form engine, which recognises checkboxes, fill out spaces etc so that you will have a PDF form back again in seconds.

Also the creation tools are superb, which allow you to create a pdf form from scratch.

For other users in the company it is neccessary to have kind of ocr transfomation of pdfs. Within Power PDF you can add „hotfolders“ and define what to do, when a file gets recognised in this folder. Power PDF has also helped us to sign documents easy. Within you can manage several ways f.e. certificate based signing, just add an image from your signing or using Kofax service „SignDoc“.

Power PDF assists us a lot in daily business work and make the way to handle pdfs way easier as before.

Ease-of-Use

I can fully agree. The look and feel of Power PDF is like in MS Office solutions so you will find really easy what you are looking for.

Also the „complex things“ like form recognition are mostly done by one-click buttons or guided instructions. But there is also a good help inside, where everything is explained really good and in a practical maneer

Alternatives Considered

Adobe Acrobat

First of all we compared the functions and which we really need and how to use them. For us Kofax has done it more intuitive. Also the price was a point of view, which is a great gap between these two products.

Support Rating

Kofax has a great support, in several languages. I never had an issue before where Kofax couldn’t help or answer my question. The support is structured in categories so that you will probably have an agent on the phone who really knows the product. If not there is a 2nd Level which then can answer all of your questions

As mentioned before you are able to add and delete pages to existing documents. Merge several file types (pdf, docx, xlsx, jpeg etc) to a mixed collection, select f.e. only single pages out of the documents and store this as a new PDF.

Transform non-searchable pdfs to searchable ones (OCR PDF). Transform in seconds fill out forms with just one click. Sign documents the easy and economical way instead of printing it out and scan in back again.

Likelihood to Recommend

Not just because of the intuitive look and feel it is a great tool you must have it also the thing that it perfectly lets you manage all of your PDFs from now on. You can edit existing ones and transform them to fill-out forms. You are able to add or delete pages. So many great functions which will optimise your processes. And also of course the price. This is half of what other solutions will cost in the marked right now. Yes, some Features aren‘t included when you compare them but do you really need these tools!? I say no. Power PDF is focussing on business behaviour and nothing else.
