Overall Satisfaction with LiquidPlanner

LiquidPlanner is used organization-wide to manage client projects, time budgets, deadlines, project assets and employee time sheets. It keeps all of our projects focused and on track for timely on-budget completion with easy collaboration between team members.
  • Prioritize projects and deadlines.
  • Allow multi-user tasks and set contingencies.
  • Create simple to use working calendar for each user.
  • Assigning projects from 'Inbox' to actual clients is cumbersome.
  • No direct link to calendar view from main navigation.
  • Drag & drop functionality on calendar view would be helpful.
  • When logging time from a timer, the task disappears from the drop-down. This is an inconvenience if you need to mark the project finished.
  • It cut time spent managing projects by about 75% over the previous software we used, which was more suited to small companies with far fewer tasks.
  • Provides an easy to update and clear measure of all project status at any given moment, this has resulted in team members being prepared well in advance of deadlines.
  • Less stress for project managers who can see all job progress and allotted resources with the click of a button.
LiquidPlanner is far more robust. Basecamp worked great for managing smaller projects, but LiquidPlanner was a great improvement as our company and project management needs grew.
It is well suited for companies with multiple divisions/clients and numerous projects. It would be overkill for small companies managing fewer than 25 projects at a time. It is well-suited for those managing teams with multiple members, especially when they're working on the same projects at the same time and/or if their projects are contingent upon each other. LiquidPlanner is highly suited for deadline specific project management.

LiquidPlanner Feature Ratings

Evaluating LiquidPlanner and Competitors

Yes - Basecamp, it wasn't complex enough to suit the needs of our business as it grew. It didn't work fluidly for larger teams and it was too cumbersome to pull out necessary data. LiquidPlanner has a more robust asset sharing system which has been very helpful too.

The most important factor was whether it would work for our needs. The complimentary testing period solidified it for us.
It's been two years since we evaluated and selected it. We're still using it, so I can't think of anything that could be improved upon.

LiquidPlanner Support

Support is the least impressive part of LiquidPlanner for me. Issues are resolved, but software bugs or suggested improvements are generally blown off or responded to condescendingly. This software updates more frequently than any other software we use, frequently during times we use the product (Saturday mornings). Often the updates result in aesthetic changes that seem pointless when there are bigger updates that would make using the product easier, which should be a higher priority.

Slow Initial Response
Yes - Yes, and yes it was resolved.
Support staff is available, but I don't find their support team to be the most helpful of all the services I use. I only contact them when I absolutely have to.
