Overall Satisfaction with MobileIron

MobileIron is used to manage mobile devices globally in our company. Currently, we use MobileIron to manage Apple iOS and Android devices. In the past, we were also using MobileIron to manage Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 10 Mobile devices. Our company does provide support for corporate and BYOD devices.

Pros

  • UI for administrators.
  • Reporting possibilities.
  • Troubleshooting possibilities (e.g. re-pushing single profile).

Cons

  • Option to select device ownership (corporate/personal) during client registration.
  • Add full support for Microsoft HoloLens devices.
  • SMS notifications might not work for some countries.
  • User productivity (configurations and applications are pushed automatically to a device after registration).
  • Increased security of mobile devices.
  • Ease of deployment of special kiosk device configuration remotely.
Workspace ONE (formerly AirWatch) is currently the biggest competitor for MobileIron. There are some functionalities in Workspace ONE that might not be present in MobileIron and vice versa. Also, if you are considering purchasing the EMM product, Microsoft Intune should be included in the list with the others especially if you need to secure the data in Microsoft mobile applications.
MobileIron is one of the best products to manage mobile devices. The size of the company does not really matter, It can be used to manage a small number of devices but at the same time, it can easily manage tens of thousands of devices in a large enterprise. It can be purchased as a cloud service or you can choose the on-premise servers if it is a requirement for your company.
