Overall Satisfaction with Planview Projectplace

We use this on our team and we are part of a pilot program. The enterprise is evaluating several tools and our team was lucky enough to use this. This tool replaces a bunch of separate tools that were being used like MS-Project, Excel, Kanban boards and our ticketing system. The entire team had difficulty sharing information in the past but this tool makes it efficient and effortless. We have a distributed team spread across multiple physical locations in the U.S. and abroad. We currently have most teams working virtual so the physical Kanban board isn't practical. This tool eliminates [our] need for physical boards.
  • Collaboration
  • Issue Management
  • Project Tracking
  • Meeting Management
  • Learning Curve (not necessarily the tool, but the Agile processes)
  • Improved Productivity
  • Better Adherence to SLAs
  • Backlog Management has improved
  • Reduction in unnecessary meetings
  • Improved Deliverable Predictability Rate

great support from our integration partner and Planview. we rely mostly on our integration partner / agile coach to help us with this. On a few occasions we have had to reach out the Planview and they have been knowledgeable, helpful and responsive. Very pleased all around with support. I highly recommend the integration partner to assist.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, this tool has been invaluable. We previously had physical Kanban boards. For our remote employees we would take a photo and paste it on our sharepoint site. It quickly would get out of date. Then with being restricted from being in the office, the physical board became impossible. This tool was a lifesafer and our kanban boards are always up to date. No longer do we have to rely on several tools and merging of data. This is our one stop shop and our productivity has improved approximately 25-30%.
teams is too new and quirky in my opinion. oddly enough teams doesn't work with MS-Edge and to use it we had to go Google Chrome as the browser. Now we have a teams app but we have become dependent on Planview Projectplace as our collaboration tool of choice. Many more features than Teams and full support for Agile.
Great for Agile teams. One thing you have to realize is you are not just implementing a tool, but a new process. You can't expect to get there overnight. I recommend that bringing in an expert to help deploy the tool and make the tool part of everyday life and process. The tool needs to be integrated and become how you do things versus something extra you have to do. Once you get the team using the tool as the "how you do things", team morale greatly improves and adoption increases as well as productivity and a number of KPIs / metrics.
