Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise

I use Quickbooks Enterprise to account for a small side business that I started and own. The decision to use it was based on my experience from my "day job" as a manager at a medium-sized trucking company.
  • Non-accountant entry of financial information.
  • Reporting of operational and financial accounting information.
  • Ease of initial start-up.
  • Easier generation of custom reports.
  • Integration with multiple organizations.
  • Ease of developing depreciation schedules.
  • It has been a major contributor to tracking expenses.
  • Since our operation is related to a long-term crop investment, the influence on ROI is yet to be determined.
  • The package is cost effective for fulfilling tax reporting obligations.
From what we can determine, Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise will be able to scale up easily once our long-term crop starts to generate an income stream.
I was able to set up Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise with a minimal amount of time, I would say three to four hours.
The software has lived up to our expectations with the potential for exceeding them as we grow.
We did not evaluate other options due to our experience with Quickbooks in a different organization.

Since my experience using this is on a relatively low-level business volume, I would definitely recommend this for a small, start-up business where the user was going to be a non-data entry or accounting person. I would be cautious recommending it for larger businesses that might be supported better with a different package.
