Overall Satisfaction with SAP HANA
Hana is used by the entire organization to store SAP ECC 6 ERP system data. It is also used for analytics purposes. It allows for real-time reporting abilities as well as faster performances. Front end tools are used to report out of Hana views for operational purposes. Hana also helps in using other offerings from SAP like Fiori.
- Fast performance: Real-time aggregation
- SAP Hana is not just a database but a platform. We are also using SAP AFL-PAL for predictive abilities
- SAP Hana is the foundation to build better UI like Fiori.
- Stability of the database.
- Developer editions/offering on cloud for developing a community.
- Small videos < 5 min to show different functionalities. Maybe a series on Youtube.
- Positive: Single source of truth.
- Positive: Reduced data footprint hence less storage.
- Negative: Expensive.
It is best suited for Enterprise applications to build on SAP ERP system. Other applications are very technical products and do not have business goals embedded. For example, SAP Hana has am application functional library as well as inbuilt support for R which is very useful. With other products, you have to build other instances and start moving data.
