Overall Satisfaction with Tumblr

Tumblr provided a creative and more relaxed blog atmosphere for the PR, Communications company I used it for. It was in addition to a traditional blog featured on their website. Tumblr was a place where they could post more general content that wasn't as client focused as their other blog. Tumblr also has a lot of great blogs to share and engage with unlike a company website blog.
  • I found Tumblr to be user friendly and quick to pick up.
  • Tumblr has a very helpful scheduling tool which allows you to create posts and schedule them for later dates and times. You can edit posts that are scheduled as well.
  • I really liked the ability to easily edit a post after it had already been posted.
  • The scheduling aspect is nice, but it would be better if you could choose a specific date and time rather than a block of time.
  • Sometimes I had issues when I would add a hyperlink.
  • Tumblr offered more brand and company exposure for the client I used it for.
  • It provided a place where the company could be more accessible and relaxed.

Tumblr is different from Concrete5 or WordPress as it isn't a blog directly embedded into a website. Tumblr is definitely more user friendly than Concrete5 as is WordPress. Tumblr allows for more creativity than Concrete5.
I think Tumblr is great and useful, but it depends on the situation and what a user needs from it. If you're a serious company that doesn't have room to be relaxed, loose and casual - than Tumblr most likely isn't the platform for you. If as a brand or company you have the ability to be more creative, use humor, engage directly with others than Tumblr would be a good platform to consider and it's a nice separation from a company's website.

Using Tumblr

Tumblr is easy to access and manage on computers as well as smart phones. It's fun and easy to use. I enjoy a lot of the other blogs that are currently on Tumblr as well and they inspire ideas and provide for a lot of engagement. It also handles gifs really well.

Using Tumblr

Tumblr is an easy to use tool. If you're looking for a simple platform that isn't complicated Tumblr works well. There are even ways to embed it to a company website.
