Overall Satisfaction with Ubuntu Linux

We need a Linux based OS for our Machine Learning Engineering needs and Ubuntu is one of the most mature ones out there. Also, it is supported by our IT, hence we use that. For our organization, it is important that the OS has wide community support. Ubuntu supports almost all of the Machine Learning packages that we may need and is therefore the perfect OS for us.
  • Intuitive GUI.
  • Good community support.
  • Free and Open Source.
  • App store search barely works.
  • Popular middleware such as cPanel not supported.
  • There is no support for using wireless headphones with microphone i.e. either the headphone or the microphone works at a time.
  • Good support for packages.
  • Security and privacy.
  • Enterprise support for maintenance.
  • Faster time to patch.
  • Overall much more secure than windows.
  • The machine learning based applications are supported.
Other alternatives for Ubuntu are Windows, Mac, Fedora, Mint Linux, Debian etc. While Ubuntu is free to use, Windows is an expensive OS, while for Mac you need to buy expensive Apple Hardware. I haven't had the chance to use other distributions of Linux, but as far as I know, Ubuntu is the easiest and most intuitive to use.
