Overall Satisfaction with Unitrends Recovery Series Backup Appliance
The Unitrends Recovery Series Backup Appliance is being utilized as a whole organization backup, continuity, and disaster recovery device.
- Installation and setup was excellent and Unitrends provides you with a technical contact to help through setup and deployment.
- The interface (although sometimes you have to use the new and old) is robust and thorough. The general dashboard lets you know right away if there are issues that need to be addressed.
- Reporting and alerts are excellent and easy to configure and provide detailed breakdowns.
- Agent installation is simple and supports most server types or you can set up backup points manually.
- Support is excellent.
- Some of the navigation is confusing. There are two interfaces, but neither UI feels completely right.
- The appliance is pretty loud on the rack.
- Ease of testing and verifying backups as well as reporting and auditing for compliance. Unitrends ticks all the boxes.
[We] originally looked at Barracuda Networks, Dell Powervault, and STORServer. Unitrends came out as the best cost/feature of all that we looked at and were quoted. They also include a hardware refresh program which is nice. Having come from a System Center environment I can say this was definitely easier to configure and more user friendly.
