Overall Satisfaction with Varicent Incentive Compensation Management

We pay our advisors using this tool. It helps us run a successful compensation payroll cycle.
  • Locking data of previous comp runs
  • Scheduler jobs
  • Auditing
  • Workflow processing
  • Good user interface
  • Hard to build complex queries with locked functions.
  • Hard to integrate with other solutions because of lack of API interface.
  • Hard to design data base model since its not a relational database.
  • Fewer manual errors.
  • Automation has increased.
  • Data integrity is maintained for long term audit requirements.
Users find it easy to use and understand.
A couple of times we need to back up an environment database and then restore it to another environment. Varicent provided full support during this process.
I particularly find it hard to scale because tables that have locked data cannot be modified which provides less scalability and reusability.
We have only used internally developed products but its very hard to keep products up to date with new tech coming in the market

If a company has a lot of changes in its sales structure every year then I would not recommend this product but if the sales structure is pretty much the same with each year then this is a viable and easy-to-code solution.
