Veeam Backup & Replication
Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform
We use Veeam to backup workstations and VMs to be CMMC compliant in a mixed Windows and Linux environment.
- Virtualized workloads
- Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
- In addition to back up, we also snapshot some of these workloads
- NAS filers
- In addition to back up, we also replicate some of these workloads
- None of the above
- Automatically and easily making regular incremental backups
- We were using Red Hat Virtualization and the support for that platform was mediocre. The plugin broke at some point and I was never able to fix it. We have since moved away from RHV
Do you think Veeam Data Platform delivers good value for the price?
Not sure
Are you happy with Veeam Data Platform's feature set?
Yes
Did Veeam Data Platform live up to sales and marketing promises?
I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process
Did implementation of Veeam Data Platform go as expected?
Yes
Would you buy Veeam Data Platform again?
Yes
We are protecting around 30 VMs, 6 physical, and no cloud workloads. Which is what we anticipated. We tried doing file backups but did not anticipate the licenses required to do so.
- We implemented Veeam in order to be CMMC compliant. I don't think we have had to restore or rely on Veeam for recovery.
- Peace of mind to know it is there and trusting that it will just work
I wasn't involved directly with what was in place before. I believe they were just using rsync to backup files. CMMC 2.0 required us to step up our backup solution
No we do not use the cloud
No. It wasn't economical for us. It required too many licenses to backup the 20TB or so data we had.
