O series is in the process of being implemented as an upgrade from L series within the Tax department. It is an ongoing process that involves multiple departments within the organization, and is proving very challenging to implement due to our old ERP system. We are continuing to evaluate the best way to move forward with this implementation.
- Mapping products.
- It eliminates a lot of research.
- It helps with exemption certificate management.
- More detailed categories, especially in the medical and dental product and service categories.
- Customer support enhancements.
- The ability to use fiscal dates instead of monthly calendar dates.
- Negative: O series has proven very challenging to implement.
- Positive: O series will ultimately bring down audit assessments.
- Positive: O series is helping identify many scenarios that were previously overlooked in the past.

Certain features, such as exemption certificate management are not available on the current product. The company's audit assessments were growing due to the lack of features of current product.

- It saves time on compliance.
- Helps unify information across business divisions and subsidiaries.
Vertex has provided excellent support when we presented them with some zip codes/geocodes that we felt were incorrect in the system, and after they researched the issue, we actually changed the system to reflect the updated zip codes and geocodes. We appreciate that they looked into the issue and came to a resolution.
