Overall Satisfaction with Vista
We are implementing Vista HRMS across the entire Perkins organization. It addresses the business problems of having disconnected HR and payroll systems and no time and attendance system. It also enables workflow, self-service, and better reporting.
Pros
- Seems intuitive, well organized
- Mostly configurable--just a few customizations required
- Reporting structure is well defined and ready for reporting
Cons
- Vista Time system is a different product, but it's integrated. Sold as "one system"
- Not yet fully accessible for Screen Reader users so we are working with PDS on a solution
- We haven't implemented the system yet
- Hoping for improved efficiency with time and attendance and employee self-service
- Hoping to onboard more efficiently
- One integrated HR/Payroll system promises improved operational efficiency
I've used Peoplesoft HCM in the past. The products have some similarities, but they are marketed to different sized companies, so it's a bit of apples to oranges. Peoplesoft was very complex and challenging to manage and support. Vista HRMS should require fewer technical resources and still provide robust features for HR and Payroll. We selected Vista HRMS because it met the majority of our requirements and was priced to enable us to purchase and implement it within our budget. Also, it's an integrated system (although not truly one system when you count Vista Time) which is an improvement over our current state.
