Overall Satisfaction with Whova

We recently used Whova for an international event held with over 400 participants. It was used for networking, scheduling our agenda, registration at the event, organizer announcements, checking with the organizers regarding what is allowed/not allowed or what will be happening, lost and found information, ride sharing, posting and viewing photos, participating in discussion topics, chatting with individual users, scheduling meetups, and viewing documents from the teachers for the event.

Pros

  • Networking
  • Integration with Google Calendar
  • Information organization

Cons

  • I was unable to download any of the documents attached to a teaching - I had to view them directly in the app
  • When someone "liked" one of my photos, I would receive a notification, but I was unable to tell which photo had been most recently liked.
  • When someone added a comment to my "Break the Ice" introduction, I would get a notification, but it wouldn't take me directly to my Icebreaker when I tapped on it.
  • Not sure if this was an issue with the map, but the pins were in the wrong location for some things.
  • Increased access to event logistics
  • Improved attendee engagement
  • Streamlined event planning
I never contacted Whova's support team.
On the whole, implementation was pretty simple, although the layout was a little less user-friendly than desired.

Where Whova is well suited:
If you have an event with a large group of younger people who don't all know each other and need a quick and easy way to network and organize their time, Whova is a good choice

Where Whova is less appropriate:
For groups of people that don't have an aptitude for technology, some of the features of the app are a little less intuitive and need a little bit of a workaround to get the result you're looking for.
