Overall Satisfaction with Workfront
Workfront is being used organization-wide for time tracking, task assignments, timelines, managerial and project management reporting, and draft invoices. We use QuickBooks for invoices and authoritative P&L, but we generate all the info in Workfront and it provides our real-time snap-shot view.
Pros
- Reporting is customizable and mostly intuitive
- Ability to use built-in and custom filters, views, and grouping across the whole system is extremely helpful
- Good time tracking and work management, if the projects are set up correctly
Cons
- Resource management and forecasting can be a bear
- Relatively expensive
- Structure doesn't work particularly well for software development
- we ended up having to keep a separate ticketing system because of workflow needs
The reason we ended up picking Workfront was:
- most all in one
- most flexibility for billing/finances/reporting
- good time tracking
- robust cost models
