Overall Satisfaction with Workfront

Workfront is currently used mainly by our Marketing department as well as by some of the departments in IT. It helps to organize and track projects and tasks as they relate to Marketing and IT deliverables.
  • Workfront is very good at organizing tasks and setting a hierarchy in which dependencies can be shown.
  • Very collaborative and allows cross-functional teams to work together.
  • Highly customized options allow for tailoring the application to our organization's needs.
  • Notifications can use a lot of work, mainly due to the fact that e-mail notifications are not sent out to assigned groups, but only when individuals are assigned to the tasks.
  • Reporting can be a little bit clunky, it may benefit from an easier to use UI.
  • Once a task is completed, it is hard to relocate that task again for reference. Better history logging and reporting would be beneficial.
  • Workfront has helped to improve efficiencies in productivity by organizing projects and tasks.
  • Allows quick collaboration for fast turnaround on urgent projects and tasks.
Basecamp was also a good tool which had a few more collaboration features in terms of communication, but I really like the Workfront features that allow cascading of tasks and nesting them with dependencies. It really helps teams manage their workload while keeping everyone accountable for their work on a daily basis.
Workfront is great for managing tasks which span across multiple cross-functional teams and allows for great document management and some version control. When used in a marketing setting in which creative development tasks are assigned, it easily allows one to upload mock-ups and final assets for approval and to be shifted to the next stage.
