AcademicWorks

We manage over 200 applications online, and could definitely take on more. If you only manage a low number - this would still be great software, but you may not need this. Also, if you have very specific applications, this might not be the best fit. However, if most of your applications are the same and just vary with some specific questions - this is perfect!

Network for Good

Network for Good (NFG) has been excellent for our organization as we have a handful of users. In the past, we used another platform that was more suited for a much larger organization. It was burdensome and difficult to learn. We appreciate that Network for Good gives us exactly what we need to manage our donor records, cultivation strategies, and solicitations.

Cons

  • Some users may like a bit more customization
  • If it's not currently a thing, an "if, then" algorithm for the general application would be helpful
  • Easier searching in their client resource portal

  • I wish that there was a way to delete prospect records of donors. We have some donors who have not given in ten years, they've moved away and we know we will not have contact with them again.

Alternatives Considered

We used Award Spring and Smarter Select in the past.

NFG is better suited for our size of organization. We are a small office with a database of a few hundred donors.

Return on Investment

  • It has provided a positive ROI in our scholarship management, without having to outsource this function in our department.
  • The help we get from the support team is phenomenal that yearly set up can be done with a few days.
  • For what we get done with it, it is a good investment.

  • Network for Good has streamlined and automated our donor relations and management processes and is compatible with our budget.
