Overall we are happy with what Acronis is offering us, both as a use and a Value Add Resellers. The fact that there is one portal to onboard customers and select services is exactly what we were looking for. Now we are working on the Multi Tenant version, so we can also White Label Acronis towards our customerbase. We have not yet found any scenario's where Acronis can not offer any benefits. We do hear that the pricing for the storage is often to high versus competition. This applies to the Acronis data center storage, yet also the structure of Workload/per TB combination towards other Cloud vendors. (mainly the 3 largest Hyper Scalers) Compared to other Cloud storage solutions, these cost should be lower, so it will be easier to explain to customers to come and join Acronis in the cloud, instead of doing local back-ups or use solutions like DropBox, BackBlaze, PureStorage, Wasabo Hot Cloud Storage, Cloudian and more.
If your organization has a lot of archival data that it needs to be backed up for safekeeping, where it won't be touched except in a dire emergency, Amazon Glacier is perfect. In our case, we had a client that generates many TB of video and photo data at annual events and wanted to retain ALL of it, pre- and post- edit for potential use in a future museum. Using the Snowball device, we were able to move hundreds of TB of existing media data that was previously housed on multiple Thunderbolt drives, external RAIDs, etc, in an organized manner, to Amazon Glacier. Then, we were able to setup CloudBerry Backup on their production computers to continually backup any new media that they generated during their annual events.
They recently raised the pricing for backup usage and our price has nearly doubled. It is still lower than some other vendors, but we might review other options before renewing next year.
Overall, Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud is powerful and effective. The platform has user-friendly features and a centralized dashboard that simplifies management across multiple clients. This platform integrates backup, recovery, and security features effectively, all in one. It makes our lives easier.
Can be slow to respond at times, but they will be able to help you get to a resolution fairly quickly. We have not com across an issue they were unable to fix. Have found that they will generally start by trying to send you links to KB articles, so if you need help directly, you can send KB's that you have looked at already to bypass the back and forth.
An organization might choose Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud over Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud Backup for several reasons: Comprehensive Protection: Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud offers a more comprehensive solution that covers data protection, cybersecurity, and disaster recovery. If an organization requires an all-in-one solution to manage both backup and security, Acronis is a better fit. Diverse IT Environment: If a business operates in a diverse IT environment that includes physical, virtual, and cloud components, Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud's broad platform support makes it more suitable. Enhanced Cybersecurity: Organizations that prioritize advanced cybersecurity features and AI-driven threat detection capabilities might find Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud a more robust solution in this regard.
Since the rest of our infrastructure is in Amazon AWS, coding for sending data to Glacier just makes sense. The others are great as well, for their specific needs and uses, but having *another* third-party software to manage, be billed for, and learn/utilize can be costly in money and time.
We seldom need to access our data in Glacier; this means that it is a fraction of the cost of S3, including the infrequent-access storage class.
Transitioning data to Glacier is managed by AWS. We don't need our engineers to build or maintain log pipelines.
Configuring lifecycle policies for S3 and Glacier is simple; it takes our engineers very little time, and there is little risk of errant configuration.
