    Cisco Secure Firewall

If you are already using [a] Cisco product like the Cisco ASA Series and you need more security on layer 7 then you can upgrade with firepower. This is well suited for middle and big organizations. If your company deals with credit card information then you should buy this firewall. It provides you all the features to stop any type of advanced attack on your organization

    McAfee Endpoint Security

It provides great web security and will protect your devices against viruses and malware when paired with other security software and hardware. For instance, we have multiple layers of security set up so if McAfee misses something then one of our other barriers will catch the infection or intrusion before it reaches the network. I would not suggest using this product as a standalone agent because I do not think it will be as effective when working by itself. The dashboard also makes it convenient to manage devices, policies, and settings from wherever you are so it's an ideal solution for any IT department to use. I would just suggest using something else as a backup so your network isn't left vulnerable.

    Pros

    Cisco Secure Firewall

    • Updates with the HA Pair are incredibly easy and automated
    • FMC with Firepowers provide a single place to view information about devices and connections
    • Tedious policy changes can be staged during the working hours and then deployed in one click after hours

    McAfee Endpoint Security

    • The detection level is better than Windows defender.
    • The e-policy orchestration management console that comes with it enables us to oversee the devices remotely, run scans on the endpoints, and update their virus definitions forcibly.
    • It sends regular updates and therefore each endpoints stays safe individually.
    • Furthermore, it has a very easy to understand interface.

    Cons

    Cisco Secure Firewall

    • The UI in Cisco Firepower formerly Sourcefire) is complicated and entirely redundant. A lot of these features are not useful, and therefore, it can be removed from the main window.
    • The interface is very slow, with each operation taking a lot of time. Searching through the logs takes too much time.

    McAfee Endpoint Security

    • My biggest flak with McAfee Endpoint Security is that it is quite resource-intensive. It does tend to make the system a little slow. You get security at the expense of your machine's speed.
    • Even though the drive encryption makes the system more secure, it takes a lot of time to first enter the very long password, and then for it to decrypt the whole machine. This sometimes clashes with Windows update and causes a lot of complications which leads to boot loops.

It's overall very great, however the Management Console needs updating to fix the slowness of policy and rule deployments.

Cisco support is not at all suitable for this product, at least. It takes a long for them to help us with our server issues. A lot of the time, the customer support person keeps on redirecting calls to another person. They need to be well versed with the terminologies of the product they are supporting us with. Support needs a lot of improvement. Cisco Fire Linux OS, the operating system behind Cisco Firepower NGFW (formerly Sourcefire), also doesn't receive regular patches. In short, average customer service.

The support is pretty good, and I haven't had any issues with getting the highest quality technical support when there are issues. Tech support representatives that I have dealt with know the product quite well and have solved many issues that I have had with the product in the past. The only issue I have with support is that it can be quite expensive.

    Cisco Secure Firewall

pfsence is a very complicated firewall and there is lots of documentation available on Cisco website for help. The configuration is very difficult and less documentation available. Cisco Secure Firewall provides us all the security features in low cost and this is very easy to configure firewall.

If you have Cisco tools and equipment globally in place and just for the clients additionally McAfee you should have a deeper look. We wanted to install end-2-end security over all networks and hardware. This was a big point for Cisco. For a managed client team, Cisco is a step which they do not want in the first round.

    Return on Investment

    Cisco Secure Firewall

    • This product is great for inspection and normal firewall controls.
    • If there's a bug in it, it can take a lot of resource time to chase it and work around it.
    • Deciphering which data is useful has taken a bit of time and trimming.

    • The first thing is protection. According to my career I have to always deal with the internet. If I was not a user of this software many times I would have lost all of my documents due to a virus attack. Many times we plug USB devices to a PC and after scanning the USB I saw many threats using this software. So if I am not a user of this software I would have lost my documents many time. Thank you McAfee Endpoint security!
    • Another thing is this software is always concerned about our privacy. It means this is not only a virus blocker it’s anti-hacker software. They place extra effort to our privacy. They auto detect email and block the emails which email trying to steal our data.
    • Another thing is the save our passwords. So we don’t have to waste our time to type passwords we can simply enter an account through facial recognition or fingerprint. So no one can access my account without my permission. It’s helped make my work easy and I don’t have to memorize my password.
