Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Secure Firewall

We use the Cisco Secure Firewall as the secure Gateway. This means every vlan or network that we have needs to go over the firewall if it wants to enter an other network. We also use the Cisco Secure Firewall to establish Site to Site tunnels to different branches. We also use the Cisco Secure Firewall for Anyconnect access to our company.
  • Access List
  • AnyConnect access
  • Policy overviews
  • Some times some ACL just doesn't work
  • Creating HA if one FW is already installed is not working
  • Make Wildcardmask rules work at the moment it has a bug
  • Overall the pricing is ok
  • Support is also very good and fast
We don't use those tools because, in our environment, they are very buggy, and if we enable, for example, SSL inspection, skype doesn't work anymore. We use Logging to a syslogserver and besides the confusing configuration this works really well.
Really fast response time. And mostly good technicians on the other end of the line.
VPN is working really well. We use the Cisco Secure Firewall as the entry point to our organisation. For example if someone works from home and they need data from the company can just connect with the secure client to the Cisco Secure Firewall of their branch and they can access the data. Log Management also works really well.
At the moment I just used the Cisco Secure Firewall so I can't compare to other vendors.

Do you think Cisco Secure Firewall delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Cisco Secure Firewall's feature set?

No

Did Cisco Secure Firewall live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Cisco Secure Firewall go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Cisco Secure Firewall again?

No

Sometimes it is really hard to handle. There are so many bugs especially when it comes to ACL or HA creation. Sometimes the Cisco Secure Firewall just needs a restart in order to work but that shouldn't be like that in our environment the Cisco Secure Firewall is the heart of the network and if the Cisco Secure Firewall is down the whole branch is down, for that we need a more reliable product.
