I appreciate when I can take screenshots, and send them to coworkers. When I need to illustrate when something is not working properly, I can easily take a screenshot of the error message, and send it off to IT. This way they are able to resolve the issue much sooner. I will receive website leads, take a screenshot of the lead, and forward it on to the sales team

BL is great is you're going from a manual process to something more sophisticated. I'm not sure what the competitive landscape looks like with regards to Reference Software nowadays, but when we were evaluating a few years ago, BL was ahead of all other vendors in terms of functionality and integrations with SFDC

Pros

CloudApp

  • Capturing specific contents in video format instead of getting recorded the whole screen
  • Customizing the contents of any video or screenshots and annoting in terms of user's need
  • Editing the videos and screenshots which is helpful in terms of sharing contents in online presentations or meetings with client
  • Getting more customized settings while uploading or editing screenshots to look the content more readable

RO Reference Enablement

  • The system provides more visibility into available references and prevents references from being over-used. It allows the client (reference) to choose how often they can be contacted in a given time period and provides a closed-loop feedback mechanism to make sure the client is providing positive responses.
  • Allows account executives (sales people) to easily request references based on: product Used, customer vertical, location, account size, expertise, etc.
  • Uses a “Five Star” method to show how relevant the answers are when a results are returned from a search.

Cons

CloudApp

  • Can get buggy or slow to load when you have a large library of media saved
  • The GIF/video capturing can bug sometimes when you are in full-screen mode, but I have a feeling that's connected with going over the limit of the freemium account 😅

  • It could be cool if there was some automated built in surveys that could be used and attached to the reference. For example very short quick survey to the potential customer about how they felt about the reference, a short one to the sale rep involved to show if it was a good fit to bring the reference and potential customer together. Then show those collective results on the reference record and when searching for a reference.
  • I would like a better way to build and track points for those at the contact level of a reference and a the account level.

In all honesty I don't even have time to look for an alternative to CloudApp at this point in our business. CloudApp works for what we had planned to use it for and unless a competing service that offers the same quality and ease-of-use along with video screen capture comes out I will renew indefinitely.

I would give cloud app a 10 out of 10 if the video screen capture portion of the tool worked flawlessly and the addition of few suggestions like full-page screen grab and the quicker ability to download screenshots or screen videos to my hard drive. I don't mean to repeat a feature request here being that features would heavily improve usability in my particular usage situation.

I would give cloud app a 9/10 score on overall support mostly because I have had very little need of any support at all being that the tool was designed almost to use itself. In my opinion this level of forethought is equal to customer support. As of yet I've only had one real problem with cloud app which was the loss of a 20 minute video screen capture. Unfortunately I have not had the time to contact support about this loss. The only other minor issues that I confronted was within the initial set up which I was able to resolve via their website's support pages.

I was extremely satisfied with how quick and easy the implementation of Cloudapp was on my MacIntosh using MacOS Sierra was, along with how amazingly fast I was able to be up and going with the tool. most often with sass tools we are lucky if we can use 50% of the features without having to have consultations and a ton of back-and-forth email on how to use other features of the product. Cloud app has made it extremely user-friendly with almost no need for customer support. To My business, that equals time savings which as most business owners know, can be far more valuable than a few dollars saved.

The process of asking each reference how often they’d be willing to be contacted was the biggest task.
We made assumptions for current clients, and ask each new client once they become a customer.
Along with which specific skill-set they’d be willing to be a reference

I need to point out that I love Snagit. It's a fantastic product, but there are different use-cases. CloudApp for me is about quick and efficient sharing. Snagit doesn't really allow for that. Yes, they have a cloud sharing option, but for the entirety of me using the program, it hasn't worked right. You'll have to try both to see what I mean.

While I was one of the decision makers in this process, I didn't sit on the demos for the other providers (I was brought in further in the sales process). My understanding from my team was that BL was much more configurable and support more robust integrations that the competitors

Return on Investment

CloudApp

  • Speed. It's incredibly quick and easy to share images, gifs, and videos. That saves us time and makes us more productive.
  • Storage. Everything is kept in one place, so it's easy to go back and reference/keep track of. It keeps us from hunting down previous shares.
  • Annotation. It's very quick to mark things up before sending! Again, the primary benefit here is speed.
  • Cash. We'll occasionally share videos with prospects so they better understand our offerings. Some of those people become customers!

  • Increase time to fill: All references are filled within 2.5 days or less. For a program that isn't managed by one person, full time, we look at this stat as a win for our organization. BL def. helped us in cutting down the time it takes to find a reference.
  • Increased employee efficiency: The customer marketing team still owns the day to day administration (approvals) of the system, but we've drastically cut down their effort. We no longer need to search for the reference (the sales reps now do this themselves) - and the triggers to the account managers have been a huge help in cutting down the time to approve.
  • Greater visibility: BL has allowed us to capture denial reasons - which means we know why a references is being denied - which means we can hide them from coming up in future search results.
