If you have systems that are compatible with Tenfold (Salesforce, RingCentral, etc.), and have a sales team, I definitely recommend using Tenfold. Capturing each touch point with your customers is critical if you want to have a consistent and professional relationship with them. Don't rely on a sales rep memory to keep track of when they talked to customers and what was said. Use a product like Tenfold to document everything. It's so important to do so, especially if you have a team with high turnover. You need to know everything that has been said to a customer in the past so you can support them appropriately and meet their expectations.

Salesforce CPQ

Very well suited if you need to standardize quotes, discounts etc. The level of customization and rules are really robust. The approval process is also very useful and allows for that automation in Salesforce directly as well. It is not as well suited if you need great customization of quote templates. The standardization is its strength if you need that, but if you don't or you need flexibility, CPQ is probably not the right tool.

  • It helps when I receive a phone call and it shows up on my screen.
  • It keeps me in sync with all of my everyday tasks.
  • The program is always evolving into to work with all of my programs.

Cons

  • Tenfold's note section could be segmented into bullet form, or could allow different organizations to customize a note section to log the important information they're trying to gather.
  • There have been a few times Tenfold has missed logging a call, so when I go to check my notes they aren't there.

  • The system is very rigid - you aren't able to easily modify descriptions
  • There are tons of hoops you have to jump through in order get things to work properly
  • It is not intuitive in the slightest - very difficult to use

I wish they would get on the phone with me and actually provide me in-depth support at a minimum since I haven't had training and nobody provided me with insight that our instance of CPQ was two years old until I was proactive and asked about the issues we were having. They should provide service/product version update information proactively to their customers.

Alternatives Considered

Prior products have proven insufficent for our current sales bandwidth. Frequent failure and slow response led to loss of faith in the product and diminishing production metrics and usable data. Tenfolds interface, floating UI and Dashboard has created a seamless workflow for our front line salespeople and provides sales managers a user friendly view of data in real time.
