As a hardware centric Value Added Reseller involved in the Hardware, Software and Services game. We needed an intelligent, Integrated quoting tool that was both sales friendly and rich in features. Quosal allows our sales team to create beautiful quotes and proposals that have the flair and style our marketing team wants, with the back end data that our management and procurement teams needs while still being easy to use.
  • Custom made templates for Quotes, Proposals and profit sheets make document delivery easy.
  • Live data feeds from our vendors simplify the shopping experience for our sales staff and historical pricing alerts make the pricing experience for our customers smooth and intelligent.
  • The ability to mass import data directly from vendor spreadsheets helps to make complex quotes simple and quick.
  • We have found that removing the eye candy helps performance on older, less capable workstations.
  • We are currently looking to move our Quosal database to Micorsoft Azure cloud database to make our infrastructure more secure.
  • Adoption to any tool is tough, it's important to stay on the sales team to insure they understand the real business value of a unified quoting tool.
Quosal will really hit it's stride when management makes it a requirement from the sales staff and the sales staff sees the true business value of having all quotes and proposals come from a unified tool. With just a little bit of training, a champion can propagate the adoption rates up and unify the delivery and presentation of the companies offering in a mater of months. Quosal (through the IT Nation and it's usergroups) can provide training materials and best practice information needed to accomplish this goal. I highly recommend getting involved in the usergroups and attending when possible.

We use ConnectWise Sell as our primary quoting tool for customers. We used it back when it was referred to as Quosal and stuck with it as it transitioned to its new branding. It fully integrates with our CRM application and allows us to easily create, customize and get quotes out the door. Its integration with all our major distributors and product information catalog makes it a winner.
  • Hosted on Azure and we have had minimal down time.
  • Integrates with many other systems for a seamless experience.
  • Support is excellent and they listen when you make suggestions and requests!
  • Since the servers are on shared systems, sometime things slow down when usage is high. Not to a point where it is unusable though.
  • A little grace period when adding licenses would be nice. When you hit your limit you cannot have any new users log on unless you disable an existing user. It takes a day or two for new users to activate.
It is well suited for resellers in the IT industry. It integrates with all the big boys and the interface is simple and intuitive. If you use ConnectWise Manage as your CRM, the integration makes it a knock out punch.

We are an MSP and use ConnectWise to track tickets across the clients that we directly support. We have integrated the ConnectWise API to a number of event-driven products, like our backup and recovery reports and network sensors. We also use ConnectWise on the sales and marketing side to track opportunities, close deals, and complete leads. On the finance side, we use ConnectWise to post purchase orders and invoicing. This was primarily talking about ConnectWise manage, for Connectwise Sell we use it to do 99 percent of our quotes with the program. We use connectwise sell to create opportunities and pull it back into connectwise manage. We solve the problem of getting out quotes quickly and accurately.
  • The strengths of ConnectWise has to be with its integration to the ConnectWise manage CRM, this allows us to create a quote and win it in minutes.
  • We like the fact that we can have one of our distributors create a quote, and as a reseller we can pull that quote into ConnectWise Sell with just the quote number.
  • The ability for ConnectWise sell to be sent directly to clients if the OrderPorter feature is activated saves our account reps time and is a custom letter and landing page our customers can access.
  • The ConnectWise Platform has its idiosyncrasies, the process of winning quotes is a struggle since most times we have to win the quote from the ConnectWise Manage and it goes unwon in ConnectWise Sell.
  • The PowerBI integration is really helpful when you only have a few different vendors, but the tool gets overwhelmed when you have 10 or more different companies you buy from. We have also seen that you have to keep your Data clean or what you will be looking see in PowerBI is completely wrong.
  • The reporting in ConnectWise is powerful but complex. We at Lockstep use a ton of different reporting tools, but do not enjoy the reporting that ConnectWise does. It is bulky and hard to navagate.
  • We use a tiered sales commission and finance has brought to our attention that this is something that ConnectWise can not handle.
Where ConnectWise Sell shines is quick and professional quotes, from one page to a full three page pull out. We love the customer support and the quick turn around of service tickets when we have a problem. The integration with the other ConnectWise platforms allows us to quickly accomplish tasks and pump out quotes. I live in ConnectWise Sell and have tested it to its max. There are a ton of features and workflows you can create if you're creative enough.

Where ConnectWise isn't suited is as a stand alone quoting tool, if you do not have the other products in the suite. I feel like it loses its value. The online URL website to create quotes is slow sometimes and frustrating. I would not use the ConnectWise Sell if I was a large business, with 20 to 100 quoters.

We are using ConnectWise Sell to streamline and standardize our quoting process. This system provides us with professional looking quotes, and the ability to deliver them to our clients in a variety of ways. Before we began using it our quotes were done in Word and Excel formats, and combined into a PDF for presentation to our clients. ConnectWise Sell allows us to spend 80% less time building a quote with the use of templates, and getting the information our clients requested quickly.

ConnectWise Sell provides us the metrics and reporting we didn't have using a manual quoting process. Our close rate has increased 80%, and our sales team sees the results in real time. The integration into ConnectWise Manage has made it easy for our sales opportunities to be generated into orders, and move effortlessly thru the purchasing and service processes.

  • It provides our company with a standardized quoting process. Everyone works the same way, uses the same templates, and generates a professional quote. Nothing gets left out or missed.
  • Portal provides your sales staff and management with a complete view of their efforts. They see in real time what opportunities are in the pipeline, and how successful their efforts are when these opportunities are won.
  • Provides a collaborative platform for our sales team to work on customer quotes. We can now have 2 or 3 members working in the same quote whereas before we had to wait for someone to free up the document before others could access it.
  • It allows us to provide much more information in our quotes by attaching documents to the quote. Things like manufacturer specifications or brochures can now be easily attached into the quotes making it a presentation instead of a bunch of line items with numbers.
  • ConnectWise Sell is customizable to meet the needs of my company. This is so important to us because similar products only allow you to do what they design it for. Our business changes regularly and we need our software systems to be agile and adaptive to it.
  • I'd like to see ConnectWise Sell develop a more user-friendly environment for advanced form and template design that doesn't require developer skills or consulting engagements. in order for us to develop these forms makes us reliant on consultants. These engagements are worth the cost, but sometimes we just don't have time to wait for them to be delivered.
  • I'd like to see ConnectWise Sell automatically generate a quote for items such as warranties or services that are expiring in ConnectWise Manage. This would save us a tremendous amount of time preparing quotes.
  • I'd like to see a new version automatically created when changes are made to a quote with the ability to reverse or revert back to a particular version. Sometimes people make mistakes and delete or change something they shouldn't have. Or customers want a change to version 1 only to change their minds when you send them the updated one, and want to go back to the original one.

We made the decision to streamline and standardize the sales process in our organization. To accomplish this we needed a software that integrated with our CRM and operations software. It also needed to be customizable internally to work the way we worked. We began customization by making sure every template we created had all the legal and financial fine print included. We then company branded the templates with a look and feel that was ours.

We haven't found an area that it isn't well suited for, but we found areas that challenged us to the point we have to consider advanced development engagements with ConnectWise Sell to deliver. Internally we just don' t have the necessary skill sets to convert some our managed service contracts into the desired templates. To do this requires developers from ConnectWise Sell to design them and deliver them into the portal. It just takes time to perfect the process, but that is a hurdle we encountered in the early adoption of it.

We use Connectwise Sell for all our proposal needs. All of our sales and back office staff have access to it. It has been invaluable as a solution that makes proposing complex quotes simple. Furthermore, it produces great looking quotes. Its integration with Etilize allows us to produce realtime pricing quotes and greatly assists in our ordering process.

We use Connectwise Sell for our account managers to streamline the quoting process and provide up to date pricing and availability while preparing the quote. The built-in features and link with ConnectWise Manage have streamlined our sales process and workflow from the quote to the implementation and customer satisfaction has increased.
  • The integration of Connectwise Sell and Manage make the whole sales process seamless.
  • Using Sell in conjunction with Etilize for up to date pricing and availability and Order Porter helps insure accurate pricing is quoted. The quote approval process also adds another layer of protection to help make sure all quotes going out are correct and there are no surprises after the deal is won.
  • The visibility of Order Porter views is a nice tool for our account managers. They can see when the quotes are being looked at and this can often times lend itself to a good time to make a follow up call.
  • My biggest complaint about Sell is the form designer. Trying to make changes on the forms you use for quoting is a horrible process. We have put off updating our forms just because of the amount of time it takes to figure it out and often times we have to pay for professional services to assist in getting the new forms together.
  • There is not a good way to introduce 3rd party pricing sheets to the catalog. All the linked downloads are with the big distributors, would be nice to be able to download the smaller price sheets from other vendors we deal with.
Connectwise Sell is well suited for preparing and presenting quotes to clients via a PDF or online. It is a little weak on quoting if there are special terms or reoccurring products to show.

ConnectWise Sell is used by the purchasing and sales manager to create quotes and proposals from 1 PC replacement to complex month or longer projects for software, hardware, and services. The Order Porter feature is used to track the number and frequency of visits and assists with the timing of follow-up and closing deals. The question and answer section has been helpful as more and more clients use this feature directly in Order Porter to pose inquiries. Depending on the nature of the quote, I opt sometimes to use the feature to turn on checkbox options as well as quantity changes available to the one viewing the quote. The ability to easily copy tabs and or line items into another quote and create as many templates as needed has proven to be an efficient time saver. Without ConnectWise Sell the process to deliver high-quality easily understood proposals would be left to Office products, such as Excel spreadsheets. This format has proven itself, especially from the upgrade to ConnectWise Sell from the earlier version ConnectWise Create.
  • The ability to copy tabs and line items into other new quotes. This saves time and when I see a pattern of what we are ordering, or the likelihood we will order again, I create a template to streamline the process even further.
  • The order porter approval and process that shows when clients are viewing and reviewing quotes has proven effective to closing deals. The training process has been slow, but steady as we train the end user to approve the quote online, vs email signed PDF attachment or verbal approvals which are not preferred or even accepted anymore.
  • The Etilize search is invaluable as you may quickly search all of our 3 main distributors for in stock items, compare stock levels from our closest warehouses and plan estimated arrival dates. I usually am within a day at most from when I expect the products to arrive with the knowledge learned at the beginning of the quote process.
  • On 1 of the custom Ripple order porter styles, I have found that notes that are not setup as a dialogue box above the product will not show in the PDF version. For example, if I put details of a product on a line time, it will not show on the order porter version, but it will show on the PDF and vice versa.
  • The ability to add Dell Premiere quotes has been temporarily removed as Dell has changed their style. I know this is being currently worked on, but I am hoping for a quick resolution, as that feature saves so much time in creating Dell server and PC, Laptop quotes.
  • The Success List is not user friendly or easy to read with all the clutter in my opinion. The different shades of green, grey, and red buttons are not clearly defined. This might be easily solved with a quick ChatAssist session pointing me to training or a resource. Perhaps I will just remove that pod on the home screen and replace it with something else.
ConnectWise Sell is well suited for hardware and software quotes for simple refreshes up to complex projects.We wanted it to be used for managed service agreements and to import our templates, but this process proved cumbersome and costly if we wanted to have developers at $250/hr create one for us. For tracking quote status using Order Porter it is well suited.

Quosal is used by our sales team and account managers. It's a great quoting tool. I like the ability it has to include photos. It makes presenting the quote exceptional in some cases and makes a great first impression. It also makes it easy to add products to ConnectWise and it's easy to convert into an order.

All sales quotes are done using Quosal. Our PSA is ConnectWise and the integration with Quosal was the driving force in our selection.
  • ConnectWise integration. Opportunities are linked to Quosal quotes.
  • GreatAmerica Leasing tie in. Allows us to add lease estimates to our quotes with a few clicks.
  • Reasonably easy to use as long as we don't want to do too much.
  • Hard to use for complex comparisons, choices, options, etc.
  • Order Porter is a nice feature but it not very user-friendly. Should not have to train our clients on how to use the order site. Should be more intuitive.
  • Not very customizable. Yes there are settings that can be changed but to do any real customization requires extensive effort.
  • Does well if all client quotes look basically the same. Good for quoting things that are available in the database or via Excel.
  • Does not work very well with PDF quotes from sources or complex quotes.
  • Also does not do versioning very well.

We use Quosal as our primary quoting service, used by the purchasing, marketing and executive management teams for all services related to reselling technology requested by our clients for hardware/software sales and services, generating new contracts for prospective partners or customers in addition to all forms of contract renewals, as well as quoting new technology to upgrade services, hardware, software or to propose the implementation of various projects.

  • Auto populating fields for thumbnails when adding products to quotes
  • Live, up-to-date pricing for a list of vendors that populates for a selection of your choice simply by inputting the product ID
  • Detailed reporting and analytics functions that tracks quoting progress and displays success rates
  • Has integrated within the system a clever sales team/individual recognition program that can be utilized to create internal contests that promote healthy competition and camaraderie
  • Would prefer to have the option to archive and organize accumulated (past) quotes in customized groups/folders
  • Would prefer to have a less complicated setup process to customize the templates and set up the administrators/users upon upgrading to Quosal Sell
It is appropriate for any company in any industry that needs to present information using a professional, modern resource/tool to quote products/services on a regular basis. It would not be appropriate for companies who do not need a quoting service, such as if their business model is not set up to present the information of services/products to customers.

We use Quosal to send quotes out to our customers and to see if they have opened the quote. This helps us know when to make a contact and elicit feedback from our customers. In addition, it helps us close deals. The Connectwise integration is nice because you can easily convert quotes to sales orders.

Quosal provides a flexible vehicle for our managed services quoting. We are able to provide dynamic content and deliver it quickly to our existing and prospective clients.

I can only say that we have completely changed our quoting process with Quosal. For small quotes, we typically don't run through the entire process, but for larger proposals it's GREAT!

It is being used by our inside and outside sales team members. Our primary use is for quote development and integration into ConnectWise. We are still in the process of rolling the application out across the company and have had several struggles along the way primarily with the training materials and access to them.
  • I think the flexibility of the software in terms of setting up different types of quotes seems to be fantastic.
  • The look and feel of the actual quote itself.
  • There have been some direct integration problems with Quosal into ConnectWise. This was one of the primary reasons we moved to Quosal. I'm confident that the integration will work out over the next several months.
  • Training materials need to be published and accessible by all of my team member on-demand. There has been some issues in getting this part streamlined.
  • Ability to design quote templates fully on your own instead of having to work with Quosal on implementing changes.
We are in the technology business so if you are looking to integrate your entire line of business applications across a single platform ConnectWise is a good choice. There are certainly struggles when you buy multiple platforms and combine them into a single system but I think they are on the right path.

I am a Senior Account Executive at Computer PROS. I have been using quosal for several months, the biggest advantage I've found using quosal is the integration with our CRM software. I can create custom quotes without having to put in an individuals information or search for individual products. The biggest issue I've found with quosal is the speed. It just seems sluggish at times.

Quosal is good product for managing quotes. Being able to create and copy quotes for recurring customers saves a lot of time. The online order portal is very convenient for clients to view quotes and it also allows me to see when customers view those quotes. The only time I find it inconvenient is when i need to do a simple hardware quote. It seems to take much longer to input the information in quosal than it would be to just send a quote via email.

Quosal is a key tool for our sales team as well as our order management team. Using Quosal streamlined the process of creating customized proposals from templates, reducing a 2 to 3 hour task down to 15 to 20 minutes. The templates within Quosal enable my sales team to quote standard offerings and options easily, and quickly check off which items to include/exclude from the quote.
  • Quote Templates save time for common types of sales
  • Quote reviews let me monitor and manage discounts my sales team is offering
  • Integration with Connectwise makes the quoting process seamless with managing the opportunity
  • The email templates for delivery quotes are not flexible enough; I would like to have a selection I can set up and choose from.
Quosal works well for repetitive types of sales. More descriptive content ... like those needed for consulting engagements don't always look nice due to pagination issues.

Myself and another team member use Quosal to generate proposal for our MSP practice. I use the software 5 to 10 times a week.
  • I like that I can access QuosalOne from a web browser anywhere and continue my work.
  • I like the real time integration into my CRM and distributors.
  • I like the way Quosal gives a real professional look and feel to our proposals.
  • I'd like to have the ability to customize the product a bit more, however I know that's a limitation of QuosalOne over the full Quosal application.
  • I've not learned to navigate the help and support effectively yet. I think my answers are out there and it's more on me than the software.
I think the software is fantastic for delivering project, product, and recurring service proposals.

Quosal provides quotes and sales management for over 300 proposals per month. I can't disclose the exact numbers but it's in the millions as to what we quote per month. It's being used throughout the company, from executive management all the way down to the customer service representatives. Its strength is the quick nature in which we can prepare and deliver a quote in a really professional way. Its weakness are the bugs that pop up from now and then but they usually get fixed in the monthly Quosal updates.

  • The speed of rate in which we can turn a phone call to a quote to a opportunity to a win.
  • The accessibility from accessing our quotes on the web via a secure connection. Giving us the ability to look at quotes on our iPads and smartphones.
  • The ability to link to our CRM system which is on the exact page as Quosal.
  • There are bugs that seem to pop up every now and then but they are usually corrected within the monthly updates.
  • The database structure and API to our CRM has flaws in it that are due to the limitations of the CRM API.
  • We sometimes come in to the software being down after an update that happens overnight.
  • Quosal is a west coast company and they pawn their support off to their sister CRM company in the morning. Those support reps are usually clueless and give you wrong answers so its always best to wait till 11am EST to get a Quosal rep.
Quosal is well suited for VARs or managed services companies. But all non-retail companies could benefit from using it. It depends on what you are selling and how you sell it. You can customize the proposals as much as you want and really implement your own companies policy into them but...you only get out of it, what you put into it.

Quosal is used across multiple departments at our firm, from sales to purchasing. We utilize the Etilize function that queries our distributors' databases to do research on products and availability. We previously used a product called Channel Online that required a lot of manual input, especially when quoting from vendors like Dell. Quosal provides a quote and proposal platform that keeps our presentation consistent, reduces manual entry errors, and largely speeds up the quoting process. The fact that you can use it to electronically process orders with the major channel distributors is a huge plus, and it's integration with ConnectWise removes the human error factor when transferring your purchases to the billing department.
  • Quosal really speeds up the quoting process, especially if you have repeatable processes or items that you sell. We've created boiler plate templates for installations, and that alone shaves five to ten minutes off generating a quote.
  • Quosal's tight integration with ConnectWise has streamlined our purchasing and billing process. The fact that I hands the pricing, cost, part numbers and customer information directly into the system removes human error, saves paper, and dramatically reduces the time required for our billing department to accurately bill products and projects.
  • We quote a large number of Dell machines, and Quosal's ability to copy and paste the XML quotes into the Quosal workspace is a HUGE timesaver.
  • Quosal Create is a resource heavy system, and will run slow on machines that are 3-4 years old.
  • Quosal's tax system is not flawless. It has priced the taxes incorrectly on a number of quotes even though the back end is set up correctly.
  • Quosal create is not truly compatible with touch screen systems. If you use something like a Microsoft Surface or the Leap Motion controller, Quosal's screen refresh will lock up and you have to restart the program and not use the touch interface.
Quosal is most powerful for a company that sells the same product repeatedly, or has repeatable configuration/installation processes, since you can create templates that can easily be inserted into any quote. The key things to make certain of when looking at Quosal- do I use a PSA system that works with it, and do my distributors integrate with it?

Quosal is used as UTG's primary quote and proposal delivery tool. Quosal streamlines repeat quote creation, order processing, pipeline management, and real-time pricing & inventory from major distributors.
  • The Order Porter function was a game changer for UTG when we adopted Quosal four years ago. We can deliver quotes to clients via one URL, update the quote as required, and still use the same URL eliminating the need for bulky PDFs going across the wire.
  • Quosal Sell adds pipeline management and extended reporting functions to help SELL and keep track of customer interactions.
  • The integration with ConnectWise opportunities gets better and better with each new release!
  • The ability to look at two quotes at the same time would be beneficial.
Great for all quotes from manufacturer renewals to new hardware to multi-phase project to new managed service agreements.

The Sales Dept and the Sales Engineers at my previous employer used the program. The best feature was being able to quickly create nice looking quotes with current distributor pricing for reference. The Second best was the ability to re-use quotes for other clients and modify to fit. The WORST feature was the internal editor that would make a hash of formatting and work in unpredictable ways. Far better than nothing but far from ideal!
  • Imports Contacts from Connectwise reducing re-entry and maintaining accuracy.
  • Works with etilize and gets linked to major distributors for current prices
  • The editor is funky, and worse, it will sometimes just scramble pasted Word copy often changing the font size and all of the formatting. Occasionally it even changed the imported keystrokes into something similar to Wingdings. This wastes time and energy and leads to unpredictable results.
  • Random blank pages are added to proposals, basically just annoying in PDFs, and a waste of paper when printed
Ask about the mechanical processes that lead to quote production. Although sections can be deleted or added, all likely sections are normally included and reducing those each time, one at a time with click to confirm, eats up a lot of time, depending on your web speed, and should have been configured like the lines under the Tabs that can be selected and acted upon with check-boxes all at once. Compare the products under consideration for the step by steps that effect your natural work-flow.
