MIP has helped us manage multiple funds from multiple sources. It helped us better organize where our revenue sources were coming from and helped us track what the most effective methods were for acquiring new funding.

Our company does use MIP to manage multiple funds from multiple funding sources, both federal and state, and it has the functionality to do this efficiently and effectively. Once you have a good training background, it is easier to convey the data the way management wants it and MIP makes it easy to do so.

The ability to set up so much diversity with funds and taxonomies and locations allows us to create so many useful levels of data and reporting.
Reports can be set up to pull information specific to the grantors and you are able to save multiple reports so that you aren't having to recreate the wheel each time.

We currently have a decent number of grants that are active. We are able to classify them as needed and can produce the monthly reports needed to ensure accuracy and verification.

We are using a separate grant management solution which does not integrate with MIP. As a result we have built custom interfaces that directly update MIP tables( a bad practice) to get around the lack of open APIs.

it has been okay in allowing for multiple coding options to identify funders that pay for specific expenses. We have multiple funders that fund particular grants that we issue to third parties. The system has been good in allowing us to code those expenses to the specific project as well as indicate a report code to identify the funder of that grant expense.

We have. Our previous software package (MS Access backend) was able to do the same [manage multiple funds from multiple sources]. The primary benefit is the comparatively easier learning curve that has allowed other staff to directly monitor their funding streams.

Yes we have. Being able to run our reports to track expenditures on each of the grants we have has been wonderful. Not having to use spreadsheets has saved us lots of hours in labor. We currently manage more than 30 grants and tracking all expenditures used to be a major undertaking. Doing allocations was another problem we had with the old accounting program. Now we can set all of those up and since we base allocations on the labor distribution, it has streamlined our work.

I believe MIP is very helpful with distinguishing spending related to different grants. There are plenty of filtering options to analyze direct expenses related to the grants and a good allocation module for indirect expenses.
