- We have been able to proactively address network performance issues without waiting for users to report the impact. This has A) found issues that users experience, but fail to report and B) given the networking team a 30-45 minute lead compared to waiting for user reports and ticket escalation.
- Has helped in the creation of business use cases for network equipment or bandwidth investments. We can focus on areas needing redundancy or additional capacity with actual data.

- SolarWinds vast array of solutions allows us to consolidate the total number of monitoring solutions, network management tools and performance monitoring tools into a single solution saving us money.
- By combining what were once many different vendor solutions for different usages into a single ecosystem we are able to quickly respond and determine the cause of network-related events.
- With a single ecosystem for network management and reporting, we are able to drastically reduce our overhead and standardize our alerting and monitoring solutions. Reducing white noise alerts and improving response time.

A mature, customization monitoring solution
- We have not yet determined how to calculate ROI from NPM. It's definitely saved us lots of IT Ops time, and threshold-based warnings save us from downtime.
- It's a stress reducer for IT Operations, once they feel confident in the monitoring solution and implementation.
- Intelligent alerting helps us effectively categorize alerts as P1 or not, preventing unnecessary off-hours calls.

NPM for a medium size business
- Less down time. Time is money.
- If a site had a slow connection we often were not alerted until at least a day later by a user. Now we can see the problem happen within an hour. This is a full work day or slow productivity that we can now resolve quickly.
- We see ROI via the number of people that need to have access to various systems to be able to clear a fault. If we can do that in one place we have a winner.

SolarWinds NPM: Good, but not great
- Proactive response to network issues. No longer relying on customers telling us there is a problem.
- Visibility into the network in general. No more having custom scripts to ping.

- NPM has paid for itself over and over! Management never questions the maintenance renewal of this product because the benefit has gone well beyond just monitoring and responding. You keep stakeholders informed of issues before they hit!
- I am able to see service provider hits as soon as they happen. I can call my ISP and get them working on the problem much faster than if I were to wait for an end-user to report loss of service.
- I wish I could show a picture of the network 7 years ago, and a picture of the network today!! I am proud of how detailed we have our environment. SolarWinds has assisted in documented and supporting the network that I now call HOME!
