Overall Satisfaction with MIP Fund Accounting (formerly Abila MIP)

MIP is being used for our entire organization. I have it set up to do the various departments via department codes. I was not the one to originally set up MIP when we first got it. There would have been some things I would have set up differently. I need to take a class to help me add more efficiencies to the work that I do but I am the "one and only" doing the job that I do. That makes it difficult to carve out the time to do it.
  • I rely on the report functions a lot.
  • MIP was fairly easy for me to understand and use not having any prior knowledge of how to use it.
  • Cost. MIP has some great modules that I would love to add to my program but we are not a large organization and the cost plays a factor in that.
  • Finding the right help. I always try to figure out how to fix my problem but trying to follow the guides is not easy to understand. No reverse if you make a mistake. It always shows my error and redo due to the batch post system.
  • I can only imagine it has been a positive ROI. I was not around at the time they implemented MIP.
No, this is on my "to do" list. I currently track in Excel myself based on how I enter all the account assignments.
I have not considered any other alternative products. This is a well known software for non-profit accounting and do not see changing anytime in the near future.
It is a well known non-profit software. That is important especially since non-profit accounting is different than that of for-profit.
