Overall Satisfaction with Abila MIP Fund Accounting

We use MIP Fund Accounting across our whole organization for our accounting needs and as a web clock. It addresses our fund accounting needs as well as a way for employees to clock in from anywhere, even though there are bugs in the web clock trying to use mobile devices.
  • Payroll
  • Allows for as many funds as we have
  • The tech support is very slow and it is hard to get in contact with support. The callback isn't scheduled and if you miss their call you have to start the process all over.
  • Emailing reports out is very cumbersome since it doesn't integrate with Outlook, and each address has to be entered manually every time.
  • Applying updates is also very tedious. The updates are not sent to the host and the link isn't always emailed out to you to apply to the software.
  • It has cut down on our finance team's overall time expenditure.
  • It has increased the time our IT department spends on fixing bugs or software issues.
Our organization has achieved this benefit by using the MIP software to manage our many fund sources.
We used Futex in the past but the software was outdated and support was also hard to get. But overall Abila meets our needs better than Futex did in many areas, especially being able to customize reports more easily and [it] supports more formats and printers than Futex did.
It is well suited for non-profits but there are a lot of bugs and features that just do not work or could be improved on a lot.
