Overall Satisfaction with AlphaSense

I use AlphaSense to track industry and finance-related matters, as well as competitors while providing an alert system that keeps me up to speed on everything that's going on with my clients and the industry. This includes SEC filings, press releases, news articles, analyst research, and other important mediums. Transcripts of calls and meetings provide the benefit of being kept in the loop on what our competitors are saying and reactions to those events. The positive/negative indicators on transcripts are also beneficial when having to skim through many transcripts in a brief time period.
  • Email alerts
  • Access to past documents
  • Analyst research access
  • Collecting all documents in one hub
  • Adding more research report sources
  • Adding more newspapers/journals to their selections
  • Adding podcast and other media transcripts
  • Provides the ability to conduct more efficient research - I don't have to hire a researcher
  • One hub for multiple types of content - time saved not visiting SEC site, searching for PRs based on keywords, etc., which saves an immense amount of time for me
  • The research report access is very important, as there are many difficulties accessing research without prior banking relationships
Search engines today are mostly garbage and a huge waste of time. AlphaSense allows me the opportunity to search for specific keywords, companies, events, etc., within set parameters. Many of these searches are more challenging to conduct outside of AlphaSense, ie: SEC filings, research reports, call and meeting transcripts, etc. AlphaSense is probably what the original search engine designers wanted to build, but then got wrapped up in pursuing ad revenue over accuracy and precision searches.
I have set up different screens across different parameters, and they are accessible to me, whether in the office or on mobile, instantly. So, AlphaSense makes it unnecessary to hire a separate researcher, while receiving the updates I need to be sent to me in real-time. Very useful and helpful in staying on top of industry developments.
Bloomberg has far more bells and whistles but is extremely cost-prohibitive and very clunky to use outside of sitting in front of the Terminal itself. A billion-dollar organization can easily afford a Bloomberg Terminal, but that's really overkill compared to everything you get with AlphaSense at a fraction of the costs.

Do you think AlphaSense delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with AlphaSense's feature set?

Yes

Did AlphaSense live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of AlphaSense go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy AlphaSense again?

Yes

If you're an investor relations practitioner or work for a company in the areas of communications, strategy, or competitive analysis, AlphaSense is right for you. It essentially provides many of the functions of a Bloomberg Terminal for a much lower cost, with better functionality and customization options. It's hard to say when a subscription isn't appropriate; I suppose it can only be determined by the user's desire to have the ability to search and access lots of company data at their fingertips.
