Overall Satisfaction with Arena
Arena is being used to capture engineering documentation of the products we develop in the medical OEM and security OEM industries. Arena is used to capture the prototype and production releases of our products. It is being used by engineering and production personnel. It is our official repository for documenting our released products.
- It does a good job of capturing all documentation to build and test your product.
- It is relatively easy to use.
- There are a number of ways to automate processes like downloading and importing BOMS. This can save a lot of time for engineers and administrators.
- I would like to see Arena be capable of capturing configurations of assemblies. We often build 2-3 prototype systems, each of which is a little different. It would be helpful if Arena could capture the revision level of each of the different configurations.
- I think the user interface could use an upgrade to make it more graphical. For the past 8 years, it has not really kept up with the latest in GUI technology. It can take a number of mouse clicks to navigate to the screen you need.
- This is a difficult question to answer. We do not have metrics that can measure this. Subjectively, I would say that it can save time when the project is transitioning from prototype stage to production as long as the product details are maintained in Arena during the development process.

Arena was already purchased when I joined the company.

The Oracle application I used was 15 years old. Oracle was not as user friendly as Arena. It was harder to learn, more quirky. It took more mouse clicks to perform tasks.
