Overall Satisfaction with Articulate Studio
We used Articulate Studio as the main authoring tool to create interactive online courses. We used the software across the team.
Pros
- I call it PowerPoint on steroids =) if you know PowerPoint, it's an easy software to work with (user-friendly).
- Articulate has a great community and they share information, templates, and tutorials. If you don't know how to do things, you know that your buddies in the community will take care of you!
- Once you learn the logic behind programming, you can get really innovative. If you are not a coder there are many templates that you can use and customize it for yourself.
Cons
- I wish Articulate had a plan for subscriptions. Updates comes so fast and pricing is expensive. Subscriptions would allow developers to have most updated version of the software whenever they need. We all know our customers are not as fast as the software updates and it's good to have the most up-to-date version of the software without having to purchase it each time (SL 1 vs. SL 2).
- Closed Caption programing is a hassle currently. I understand that slide notes work as an alternative text, but most customers would like to see the "CC" button and read the text along with the narrator. It takes lots of steps to program the closed caption button. Captivate has a better solution at the moment.
- More affordable pricing would help students to practice and learn the software while working on their school projects. Subscription plans also helps to keep the budget under control.
- Captivate, Smartbuilder and Articulate Storyline
There was nothing against other products. Our customer was already using Articulate Studio; therefore, we had to use the same product to continue their projects, update existing courses, and create new ones. All the tools I have used so far have their own strengths.

Yes - They're very helpful and come with a solution and template to help you succeed.
Yes - It depends on the type of bug. Most of the time it goes to the queue for next software updates which is typical for any software.
I was trying to code the CC caption for a course I was developing. I set up a time with customer service support, they walked me through the process and sent me the sample file to use the codes.
